Crispy duck. 1st time trying to make it in our airfryer.

LMNT · 25/07/2023 17:09

We’re keto so we’re eating rosemary and garlic chicken legs with a broccoli cauliflower cheesy bake with pieces of fried guanciale in it.

LosingTheBelly · 25/07/2023 17:09

DH- leftover chinese takeaway
Me- chicken skewers with jacket potato
DS1 - 'chicken salad' (he hates veg and barely eats chicken but a youtuber he likes said it was her favourite meal. See also sushi about a year ago
DS2- chicken skewers with jacket potato

Fridaysgirl17 · 25/07/2023 17:10

Lasagne & garlic baguette for me once kids are in bed & they had potato, garden peas, turnip & extra large batter fish fingers (Birdseye) my boys just love them

Beeinalily · 25/07/2023 17:10

Vegetarian shepherd's pie. I'm dieting and can do an individual one without the tons of butter and cheese that the others have on top. Lucky sods.

devildeepbluesea · 25/07/2023 17:10

Feeling like a nursery tea tonight. Chicken Kiev, new pots and veg.

FlyingUnicornWings · 25/07/2023 17:11

OneMoreCookieMonster · 25/07/2023 15:46

Cheaty one tonight: I batched cooked some chilli con carne. Taken that out of the freezer will make chilli cheese curly fries with homemade guacamole and salsa and hopefully some soured cream. But I can't remember if I bought any and keep forgetting to check.

Oooooh yummy!

Drews · 25/07/2023 17:12

Sweet and sour chicken

Girlintheframe · 25/07/2023 17:12

Stuffed peppers and broccoli 🥦

LosingTheBelly · 25/07/2023 17:13

Oh and for pudding we are having New york cheesecake for the Dcs and chocolate eclairs for DH and I. (I went to M&S while hungry.... )

LBOCS2 · 25/07/2023 17:14

I've just put a chicken in the oven to roast.

If my level of interest in cooking remains the same as it currently is (having provided a hot breakfast AND lunch for my delightful offspring), it is likely to be served with potato smiles and chopped cucumber.

I may tag DH in when he gets home!

Sweetashunni · 25/07/2023 17:15

shocked to see how much meat is being consumed, if I’m honest. It’s 90%+ of the meals on here

APurpleSquirrel · 25/07/2023 17:19

Chicken fajitas with guacamole & salsa.

Why is that shocking? In 2021 the percentage of vegetarians in the UK was 10% & vegans approximately 1.2% in 2019 - so say 12-15% now?

That sounds very nice.

Dominey · 25/07/2023 17:23

@GolgafrinchamB I hear you. I get so fed up with trying to please everyone and never having the meal I’d actually like even though it’s me that does 95% of the cooking. Things have got to change!

I’m very impressed with all your meals and I’ve written loads down.
@DominoRules We’re in France from Saturday and that will be my diet too! 😋

Rubbish. I counted 17 vegetarian meals and 33 meat/fish meals in the replies up to your post.

That’s 1/3 of meals not using meat. Which is disproportionately high.

DogSitterMum · 25/07/2023 17:24

Home made chicken zinger burgers, salad and chilli rice.

Im not shocked that meat is being consumed, I’m shocked at the frequency it’s being consumed. You don’t need red meat or chicken for 90% of your meals, not only is it a catastrophe for the environment, it’s expensive and bad for you.

I counted the first page and a half then stopped but if your full count is right that’s still 66%! We only need to eat it twice a week max, we should be eating twice the amount of vegetarian meals than meat consuming.

Frenchyq25 · 25/07/2023 17:30

Beef bourginon and garlic mashed potato , my son is making it as I'm at work til 6pm

mamaduckbone · 25/07/2023 17:32

Chicken and chorizo tray bake with salad.
We're just back from holiday trying to get back to vaguely normal eating habits.

PopsicleHustler · 25/07/2023 17:36

Chips, onion rings, fried chicken strips.

Got a takeaway as had the new boiler installed and it taken all day and now am not in the mood to cook after all the palaver!

And kids are happy, plus have some chocolate buns and dairy milk to have after!

PopsicleHustler · 25/07/2023 17:37

@mamaduckbone where did you go and did you have a good time? Hope all well and had a safe trip

mondaytosunday · 25/07/2023 17:37

Katsu chicken burgers and wedges. Even better is my daughter is making it!
