Anyone else got their heating on?

Bloody freezing in Hartlepool today! Heavy rain, highs of 11c!!! Massive puddles everywhere already!

Been to an outside event and even in my winter coat I've come back in properly cold. Even with a change of clothes, blanket and hot water bottle i was feeling chilly so ive given in and put the heating on but feel ridiculous considering it's meant to be high summer!

No, no, no!

Missingmyusername · 23/07/2023 16:06

No. DM does though.

VladsPants · 23/07/2023 16:06

Not even considered it. We’ve got the french doors open and are in shorts and t shirt here.

Mammalifewithtwo · 23/07/2023 16:08

No but I am sat here cold, It's awful weather for summer.

cinnamonfrenchtoast · 23/07/2023 16:08

Nope, definitely not. It's pissing down but it's not cold - the doors are open here.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 23/07/2023 16:09

I put ours on for an hour last night

Dillydollydingdong · 23/07/2023 16:10

No! It's about 20° here, cloudy and breezy.

moderndaywitch · 23/07/2023 16:10

Absolutely not. It isn't as hot as one would expect in July, but it's by no means cold. It's still warm and sticky outside.

MoonsHaunted · 23/07/2023 16:10

I’m cold up here in Scotland but I’m sticking to blankets and hot water bottles for now. Can’t bear to put the heating on in July!

timegoingtooquickly · 23/07/2023 16:10

No but it's low 20s and sunny here!

MaxwellCat · 23/07/2023 16:10

Yes but I'm not cold its just to dry some things

SinnerBoy · 23/07/2023 16:11

I'm a little way up the road from you, OP. I've been considering putting it on for half an hour. The thermostat says it's 16°

noglow · 23/07/2023 16:11

No because our bills are ridiculous as it is

DyslexicPoster · 23/07/2023 16:11

No, nice and warm just south of London.

After 7 degrees c in winter inside I can cope with anything now. It's a sunny windy day here

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 23/07/2023 16:11

Nope, got the windows open here and wearing a t shirt.

marshmallowfinder · 23/07/2023 16:11

Absolutely ridiculous. No, the heating will not be on until it's properly winter. It cannot be that bad. Just put some more warm clothes on.

Cornettoninja · 23/07/2023 16:12

No but I’m not in a part of the country that’s going to get that even overnight is going to get that low!

I do find wet weather exacerbates most temperatures so I can’t judge you for popping the heating on for a bit to try and dry the air in the house out.

Arewehumanorarewecupboards · 23/07/2023 16:13

No, I’ve put a thick jumper and socks on though. I’m also trying to warm up after a very wet walk but we don’t have heating so no choice.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 23/07/2023 16:13

No, it’s been pouring down alllll day and all of yesterday here but the house is still 21.5° and I’ve got short and a t shirt on and the windows cracked slightly open so as not to let the rain in. It’s not cold here, just wet and our house stays pretty warm luckily.

SophieJo · 23/07/2023 16:14

Wet, wet, wet in Manchester and cold! Debated whether to put heating on but put a thick jumper on instead mindful of the costs!😂

Flipin · 23/07/2023 16:15

No, but I wore my Oodie last night. 🥶

TrueScrumptious · 23/07/2023 16:16

No, it’s really warm. I went for a walk earlier and I was too hot and was seeking out the shade. Windows and doors are open at home. I’m in shorts and T-shirt.

aintnospringchicken · 23/07/2023 16:17

Definitely not.I'm in Scotland (east coast). It's 15 degrees outside just now and the sun is actually shining after being dull all day.The house isn't cold and thermostat is reading 19.
Putting heating on in July is ridiculous to me,but I understand some folks like to layer up and stick the heating on to feel comfortable.

kitsuneghost · 23/07/2023 16:17

No. Back door open. Thermostat reading 22c

1980to1989 · 23/07/2023 16:18

I'm not far from you OP, and I've got the the heating on too. Also got back home after having to go out then feeling cold and soggy once back indoors!
