Anyone else got their heating on?

Bloody freezing in Hartlepool today! Heavy rain, highs of 11c!!! Massive puddles everywhere already!

Been to an outside event and even in my winter coat I've come back in properly cold. Even with a change of clothes, blanket and hot water bottle i was feeling chilly so ive given in and put the heating on but feel ridiculous considering it's meant to be high summer!

‘I’ve had my electric blanket on all day. If I didn’t have one might have resorted to putting the heating on! It’s been off since May but I can see it coming on next month tbh.

I don’t know why some people are saying it’s ridiculous to have the heating on, depending on what part of the country you are in and how drafty your house is it might be cold!

BingoBastards · 23/07/2023 16:19

No, it's over 20°c here

FloNightingale · 23/07/2023 16:19

Sounds more like you’re coming down with a cold/chill if you’re that cold tbh.

TheChosenTwo · 23/07/2023 16:19

Not cold where I am today, my front room thermostat is saying 23 degrees which feels just comfortable for me. I’ve got my kitchen doors all wide open and most rooms have windows open. Was a bit showery this morning but we had a really nice walk early afternoon and we all had T-shirts on.
I would if I was cold though; whatever month we were in.

mondaytosunday · 23/07/2023 16:19

No - but it's 23 and partly sunny (London).

TheLathums · 23/07/2023 16:20

I'm not cold but the house smells like wet dog, wet coats and wet clothes, so I might give it a blast for half an hour. So sick of the rain.

SirChenjins · 23/07/2023 16:20

Not today but we have it on recently for the odd hour here and there to take the chill off the air and stop the damp. I refuse to be either cold or damp, and we are fortunate enough that we have the choice.

Geo42 · 23/07/2023 16:20

Well done, it's the temperature that matters not the time of year. Stay warm and healthy.

Alighttouchonthetiller · 23/07/2023 16:21

No, but then we seem to have escaped the really terrible weather that some are having. It's been a bit damp, but humid and none of the buckets and buckets of rain others have had.

I run my heating on what temperature it is, not what month it is. You crack on, OP - it sounds like an awful day where you are.

moderndaywitch · 23/07/2023 16:10

Absolutely not. It isn't as hot as one would expect in July, but it's by no means cold. It's still warm and sticky outside.

It is 11c (car temp) here. That's not warm!

My current weather! "real feel" of 8c!

It's rained for 3 days solid where I am but it's not cold I'm wearing a T-shirt

hopeishere · 23/07/2023 16:24

I did consider it last night. It was rainy and cold. I had a bath and wrapped up in my fleecy dressing gown and took a hot water bottle to bed instead!

QuestionableMouse · 23/07/2023 16:25

I took my hot water bottle to bed last night too! It's genuinely horrible outside!

Gribbit987 · 23/07/2023 16:29

No. Windows and doors open. 22.5 degrees.

Floralnomad · 23/07/2023 16:30

I’m in Kent , it’s 22 and cloudy , we’ve got a fan going in the lounge .

MrsTulip · 23/07/2023 16:35

I'm on the Salford/Bolton boarder and all it's done since the second I opened my eyes this morning is rain. I've had to put the heating on as I don't have a dryer and need to get clean laundry dry

rc22 · 23/07/2023 16:36

I'm in Yorkshire. Very wet but still reasonably warm. Got all the windows open.

Oakbeam · 23/07/2023 16:36

No, today has been a complete change from yesterday where it was 13 degrees with torrential rain all day. It’s sunny, dry, and a feebly warm 22.

Dontcallmescarface · 23/07/2023 16:36

Yep. It's the only way I'm ever going to get the washing dry.

Tarkan · 23/07/2023 16:40

I'm in NE Scotland and it's meant to be 16° here but the thermometer is reading 21.8° in the living room. That's with the window open right above the table it's on too and it's really breezy here today.

Moveoverdarlin · 23/07/2023 16:41

Currently 20 degrees in the South West. Just put on my shorts and sat out on the sun loungers.

Cakencookieobsessed · 23/07/2023 16:42

No. Unless you've got money to burn or you're elderly and frail, don't be ridiculous.

QuestionableMouse · 23/07/2023 16:45

Gribbit987 · 23/07/2023 16:29

No. Windows and doors open. 22.5 degrees.

Wonderful.

However it's 10c colder where I am!

9outof10cats · 23/07/2023 16:45

Nope. Been outside most of the afternoon seeing to the goats and horses. Windy, but sunny and warm.

Dontcallmescarface · 23/07/2023 16:36

Yep. It's the only way I'm ever going to get the washing dry.

Partly why i have mine on too - have stuff on the airer that is still damp from yesterday!
