Anyone else got their heating on?

Bloody freezing in Hartlepool today! Heavy rain, highs of 11c!!! Massive puddles everywhere already!

Been to an outside event and even in my winter coat I've come back in properly cold. Even with a change of clothes, blanket and hot water bottle i was feeling chilly so ive given in and put the heating on but feel ridiculous considering it's meant to be high summer!

I've resorted to a long sleeved top.

I've got long sleeves, winter PJ bottoms, my dressing gown and socks on! Heating is off atm but i might have to either put it back on or get the duvet off the bed! 🙃

I'd have to be suffering from hypothermia before the heating went on in July. And be very rich. And not have a conscience about the environment. And have gone mad.

TerfTalking · 23/07/2023 18:23

Cold and wet here, we’ve got the fire on in the living room only, but no central heating. The cat is keeping my knees warm.

ImNotReallySpartacus · 23/07/2023 18:38

If you're cold, put it on.

Any need to be so rude?

It's cold and damp here! I do plenty for the environment, ta.

I've been in a duvet all weekend. It says 22 degrees but it's been raining and miserable

🙄🥱

25sheets · 23/07/2023 18:51

No, I've had to close all the blinds at the back of the house to keep the rooms cool. Sun streaming in.

smooththecat · 23/07/2023 18:52

August is always a bag of shite, but now it’s extended well into July too.

headstone · 23/07/2023 18:54

Gloucestershire nice and warm today had a picnic and a walk in the woods and the washing has dried in a few hours, yesterday was miserable and I did come very close to putting a jumper on but resisted.

NoNewUserHere · 23/07/2023 18:55

Good god no.

Heating is off mid April to end of September every year anyway. But especially after last winter, I'm enjoying the £21 a month gas bills far too much to break the habit!

QuestionableMouse · 23/07/2023 18:56

Heating just came back on. Thermostat is set at 16c! 🙃🙃🙃

I had the heating on for 2 hours last night. The house was cold and damp from all the rain. It's fine here this evening, though.

Lessstressedhemum · 23/07/2023 19:02

I'm staying with my son and Dil just now and this is what we've got here. It sucks.

Anyone else got their heating on?
MrsBlondie · 23/07/2023 19:19

Absolutely not! Even though it rained all day yesterday it wasn't cold!
Lovely here today about 23

frozendaisy · 23/07/2023 19:23

Out of principle no.

Won't go on until October, unless we see actual snow.

But there is me + X2 teenage boys + one man in house I wait until their body heat warms the room.

Smugasabug · 23/07/2023 19:31

I switherd about it as I’m a bit chilly plus to dry some washing but I’ve stuck a cardigan on instead and fingers crossed I can get washing outside tomorrow

4intheCorner · 23/07/2023 19:42

No, but I do have a heated throw. I am considering putting the electric blanket back on the bed though 🥶

FFSwhatisthis · 23/07/2023 19:48

@QuestionableMouse

I'm sorry it's so miserable there.

It was supposed to rain all day today, but it's turned into a really lovely day. I went out for 'a quick' coffee at 1:30 & just got home. I could happily go back out & sit outside in jeans & t shirt.

i wouldn't put the heating on at this time of year because it was cold, but I might if it was feeling really damp in the house.

I'd love an open fire or wood burner though.

i wonder how accurate the met office are for this week coming? I'm contemplating getting my kayak out to go shopping!!

fuckmyuteruslining · 23/07/2023 19:48

Yup! Why be cold

Well I am none of the above things and I've popped mine on for an hour blast. I have cosy jumper etc on but I'm in north Scotland and it's currently 9c here and my old house is chilly. When it's 9c in ANY month, I feel I deserve an hour of heat!

Gingerlygreen · 23/07/2023 20:17

I'm in Staffordshire, we've had a couple of showers but the breeze feels warm and I've tried two loads of washing outside today plus had all the windows own.
I've shut them now but the patio doors are still wide open.

I just wish the blue skies would reappear

ArcticBells · 23/07/2023 20:19

Absolutely not. Watching tv in a T-shirt

Louloulouenna · 23/07/2023 20:21

Definitely not - I barely put it on in the winter let alone the summer.

Ladyj84 · 23/07/2023 20:22

I feel the cold even in hot days but I snuggle with blankets and hot water bottles hubby and the kids aren't cold tho
