Anyone else got their heating on?

Bloody freezing in Hartlepool today! Heavy rain, highs of 11c!!! Massive puddles everywhere already!

Been to an outside event and even in my winter coat I've come back in properly cold. Even with a change of clothes, blanket and hot water bottle i was feeling chilly so ive given in and put the heating on but feel ridiculous considering it's meant to be high summer!

No because I'm in spain and it's 32. I know I'm not who you're asking, I'm just happy it's finally not raining where I am on holiday as it normally is shit weather on my hols and lovely at home

@QuestionableMouse on it

Gilead · 23/07/2023 17:18

13 degrees here and yes I have put the bloody heating on. It’s freezing and bucketing and I plan to shower later. I’m not freezing my not inconsiderable arse off for anyone!

AquaButton · 23/07/2023 17:20

No but I did have to put a winter fleece on the other night.

ASoapImpressionOfHisWifeWhichHeAte · 23/07/2023 17:23

Not today but about a fortnight ago we threw an end of year BBQ for the year 11 leavers on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't quite July and we had all been sweltering the week before. It was perishing. I wasn't dressed especially light- tea dress, cardigan and medium weight tights- but being outside for an extended amount of time I ended up cold to my bones! Had the heating on then and the electric blanket on the bed.

Caterina99 · 23/07/2023 17:25

Not today, but we do all have hoodies/cardis on.

I did actually have the heating on for an hour the other day. We were all so wet after being out in the rain and it was freezing. It definitely helped to dry out my trainers a bit.

tuvamoodyson · 23/07/2023 17:27

Up early and lit the log burner in the sitting room, only on for an hour, just enough to make the room cosy.

Quveas · 23/07/2023 17:29

I was tempted last night, but settled for getting the duvet out of storage!

Fixesplease · 23/07/2023 17:32

Also in the NE and if it doesn't stop raining I'm going to have to put it on to dry the washing that's been draped all over the house for the last 2 days and still not dry.

Normally it goes off in May and not back on until October.

Katypp · 23/07/2023 17:33

I am getting tired of reading about people being 'freezing' in the middle of summer. Yes it is miserable, yes the temperatures are lower than they should be, but competitive coldness is tiring.
I am a member of one FB energy page where they are all competing about how cold they are and the steps they have taken to get warm. One woman claimed to be sitting under a duvet with a hot water bottle, the heating on and a fire lit. These are the same people who 'refused' to put the heating on in the winter. They do love a good pity party on there though.

Moonshine5 · 23/07/2023 17:43

@aintnospringchicken wouldn't 15 C be considered a heatwave in Scotland & positively balmy lolz 🤣

SindyisbetterthanBarbie · 23/07/2023 17:44

OP I'm just down the road from you and I had mine on earlier

Bonfire23 · 23/07/2023 17:47

No but I've got a fleece on, and the dehumidifier to try and dry some washing

SirChenjins · 23/07/2023 17:48

Then stop reading about it @Katypp and get off the FB page - problem solved.

DanceMumTaxi · 23/07/2023 17:53

Yes, but mainly because I’m trying to dry washing. We’re going away at the end of the week and need to pack, but before that the washing needs to be done.

dogsweetdog · 23/07/2023 17:54

No, just been out for a dog walk in a t shirt and it's lovely 😂 ☀️

Cas112 · 23/07/2023 17:58

I want to but my boyfriend would cry😂

SinnerBoy · 23/07/2023 18:01

I've resorted to a long sleeved top.

I find is weirdly compelling

Judellie · 23/07/2023 18:06

Yes, but it's to try and get some washing dry; it's not stopped raining for days and we're running out of clothes!

MidnightMeltdown · 23/07/2023 18:08

No, LOL! I had to seriously consider whether it was acceptable to put a thick jumper on in July yesterday 😂

serves you right then!

Selfesteem23 · 23/07/2023 18:11

SophieJo · 23/07/2023 16:14

Wet, wet, wet in Manchester and cold! Debated whether to put heating on but put a thick jumper on instead mindful of the costs!😂

I’m west Manchester way and it’s 17 degrees! Might not feel it but im
not cold We’ve had windows open and the house temp is still 20.5 degrees. We don’t even heat it that temp in winter. Too bloody expensive!

Might be wet but it’s not that cold, jumpers hoodies and blankets before heating on the middle of summer . It doesn’t take long to warm up.

True that 🤣
