Read the post above. So have I. I'm losing money every day.

Don't assume.

I did - yet you chose to berate everyone else because if you aren’t actively bemoaning the weather then no one else is to allowed to .

SirChenjins · 02/08/2023 20:42

How can you be - I thought the weather had been lovely where you were for much of July and it was going to be equally lovely going into the next fortnight? Unless you’re losing it because of the sun in Plymouth, of course.

SirChenjins · 02/08/2023 20:42

That to @WestwardHo1

SirChenjins · 02/08/2023 20:51

Forget that - that was another poster

As soon as the sun gets its hat on, and it will.... all this rain and dreariness will be forgotten about. We live in the moment weather wise.

But I agree it is quite gloomy around the place, and there seems to be a while to go before there is any change, so it does take its toll on mood.

TrollsRUs · 03/08/2023 03:52

The rain was nuts where I am today, Windscreen wipers on full speed and water all across lots of the roads. I guess it made a change from boring standard rain 🤣

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 03/08/2023 07:53

OMG it’s not raining!! I mean it’s dull, grey and 12 degrees but there’s no rain 🎉.

Same here. It feels so lovely to wake up to a dry day. Then I realised how depressing it is that i'm actually happy it's not pissing it down in August.🤣

Same here!l - I actually walked the dog in dry weather this morning!

A quick look at all the forecasts tells me it’s back to normality later this morning though…

I was trying to point out that no, it doesn't look like non stop rain for the rest of the summer, like some people were claiming Confused

IT does where I live, or at least as far as the BBC forecast goes. Apart from Tuesday 15th when it will be grey, cloudy and 17 degrees (but chances are it'll rain anyway).

It is here - as far as the forecast stretches on the BBC, Met Office and Metcheck it’s raining pretty much every day, either for the full day or part of the day. I imagine those of us complaining about the shit summer all live in places where the weather has been similar.

IhaveanewTVnow · 03/08/2023 20:49

Today in the new forest no rain this morning. But grey with occasional breaks in the cloud. However it’s been raining since 6pm tonight which is really miserable when camping. We have been here all week and it has rained everyday. The residents that live here have an idealic lifestyle. With the rain I would image the blackberries are growing well.

ginasevern · 04/08/2023 18:06

I don't know about anyone else but here in the South West it's actually stopped raining, the wind has stopped blowing and it's about 18 degrees. Next week they are forecasting sun and 23 degrees for the region, starting Tuesday. Sorry if this will make anyone faint, drown in sweat or render them incapable of running the hoover around but I'm fucking delighted.

slavetothekittens · 04/08/2023 20:51

No rain today! Quite pleasant out, actually went out without a brolly or a raincoat...

MarleyJP · 04/08/2023 21:13

Absolutely poured down here, all day to the point of flooding the courtyard.

So fed up of it.

AchillesLastStand · 04/08/2023 22:00

It was drizzling here most of the morning, I couldn’t get my washing out on the line and tomorrow storm Antoni will arrive from Ireland and bring with it yet more heavy rain and high winds. Oh joy. On the upside we might see a return of summer for a few days from midweek before the rain returns again. It’s turning into a memorable summer for all the wrong reasons.

Polis · 04/08/2023 22:09

It was actually a lovely day here today. We spent the whole day on the beach or on the water. Tee shirt and shorts weather for a welcome change.

The forecast for tomorrow is dreadful.

For us it look like it improves (warm and dry - still not sunny) a week on Monday. Right when we all go back to work/school 😒

Stressedafff · 05/08/2023 09:51

Next Thursday here is sunny and cloudy and 27°
Pissing down rain again today. This summers been a complete let down

Oblomov23 · 06/08/2023 03:37

Came home early from Dorset caravan, after a week of pissing it down. Packed up on Friday instead of Sunday, because it was dry. GlD we did because it rained almost constantly yesterday on Saturday. I'm very resentful that July was so shit. And august looks the same. Global warming? Where's our hot summer? Normally it's so hot in our Dorset caravan that we are all complaining, fans on. I remember covid summer, boiling. I was working. Now, where is such summer?

Firefin · 06/08/2023 08:42

It was cold yesterday. 12 degrees in August - I'd more associate temperatures like that with mid-late October. Thursday is pedicted to be one of the few non-rainy days and suddenly 26 degrees. I think the massive fluctuations in temperatures don't help.

BarelyLiterate · 06/08/2023 10:10

I watched the BBC forecast this morning. The jet-stream is finally starting to move north, dragging warmer air up from the continent across the British Isles. Consequently, we can expect weather which feels a bit more like summer from the middle of next week onward.

At long last! ☀️ 🥳

Thank God! What a shit show so far. 😬

Oblomov23 · 06/08/2023 10:25

I watched weather yesterday. London 26 by Thursday, so warmer, but still constant showers, so this still seriously pisses me off.
