My daughter's birthday is in July too, she's 15, never known one like this year (shit and wet), we must have been lucky because I genuinely don't remember her birthday this wet in the last 15 years. It's been an absolute shit July. Storms in June and Spring was shit as well apart from a ridiculous few days of baking temps before it went shit again.

Maybe they live in Spain 😅 we didn't either (Derbyshire)

I usually hate heatwaves because I can't tolerate the sun but this weather is unreal. It's worse. It's depressing. It never stops raining. I want the sun to come back.

My fault as we bought some new garden furniture.

Maybe if we try and jinx the weather the sun might come out. If we all pack away our summer clothes and burn the garden furniture and take out the big heavy coats the sun will come out.

I wanted to buy an egg chair earlier in the summer for the garden but I'm glad I never went ahead with the purchase because it would never be used outside and there's no space indoors.

I've already relegated my summer clothes to the drawers in the wardrobe and I never got around to putting the big coat away... I'm doing my best here. 😅

24⁰ and sunny in the North East of Scotland this afternoon. Its been lovely.

We just got back from a very damp day out, and I have put the heat on.

I still don't care - it's better than 41°.

The Lakes isn't really the NW tho. It's got its own microclimate.

If the weather is fine then the temperature shoots up. The only way to have moderate temperatures in summer in London is with slightly crappy weather. You won't get fine weather and mild temperatures here in July.

That poster might have Raynaud's and feel the cold more than other people.

It’s bizarre that everyone keeps saying May was hot. It was dry, cloudy and cool. (16 degrees)
See attached stats - and that’s Oxford, would have been colder up north.

It finally warmed up at the beginning of June after the May half termZ.

Cosy can fuck right off.

And for the whole of autumn and winter too! Sounds wonderful.

I feel very sorry for all the weddings/BBQs/ festivals/camping trips. But oh to curl up on the sofa with a cuppa 🙄

@Delatron 7th May was hot in Yorkshire I remember that date because I flew to the airport and it was Yorkshire. There definitely was hot days in May this year.

Seems like "nice" summer weather will become a thing of the past, with the future being either baking heat on one side of the jetstream or grey rain on the other.
