Did anyone get an access code today? I applied for 3 cities and for all 3 I've been put on the wait list. No codes for me 😔

I'm so glad this shit wasn't around when my kids were young/teenagers (like 15 to 20 years ago.) I couldn't have been bothered with all this hassle. We just used to buy the tickets online with NO trouble at all - and they'd come in the post 2 to 3 weeks later and then we go to the concert a couple of months later (and tickets were £25 to £40 depending on what band we saw...)

Before Internet booking we would just ring the venue and book the tickets over the phone with a debit card and then they would arrive a few weeks later.

I really like Taylor Swift and think she's really talented and gifted - but this is absolute bollocks. I mean I'm sure other bands and singers do this as well - but I really could not tolerate this stupid fight for tickets. As I said, I'm so glad that my DC have grown now and I don't have to put up with this.

I really enjoyed going to concerts right up to my early 40s but now - (mid 50s,) I really cannot be bothered with it anymore ... Been there done that - literally bought the T shirts!!! Been to well over 30 concerts in my life. About 2 thirds of them with my DC. No more!

They've done this as the system crashed in the US when they released tickets and thousands upon thousands were bought by bots who resold them for ridiculous prices. It is unfortunate that its like this but for such a high demand show this is the fairest way.

I got codes for Wembley dares but already got tickets in the presale. My daughter and nephew were both waitlisted.

But, when we used to buy them there was no such thing as bots/ ticketmaster/ viagogo buying them.

Also, from what I have heard, 10s of 1000s of these Taylor Swift tickets HAVE been bought by ticketmaster, (and a couple of similar places,) and they have been re-selling them for £500 more a few hours later.

Well exactly, automated bots didn't used to be a huge issue! There are lots for sale on sites of which you can list them without having to prove evidence of the ticket- there's a high chance these listings don't even have tickets, it's a scammers paradise. Same as people who post on social media about having x tickets and to DM them; the only place people should ever trust ticket sales are ticketmaster resale and places like twickets where you can only list if you have proof of the ticket, can only list for a small percentage above face value and if you do scam someone you are fined etc. The resale option on these trusted sites won't be activated until nearer the time. There aren't tens of thousands listed anyway, and it depends whether you believe the conspiracies that ticketmaster who own vigago keep tickets back to sell for inflated prices...

GroomedForSerfdom · 14/07/2023 23:16

Have had codes for 3 of the 5 cities I've applied for, but the only tickets left so far have been ridiculously priced so we've left it. I like Taylor but I'm not paying £250 a ticket for a stadium gig unless there are seriously good perks. Funnily enough, those tickets aren't selling out at all.

Itwasrare · 14/07/2023 23:21

I’m so puzzled by the hype. Rep tour just 5 years ago didn’t sell out. I had various options and we bought in our own time,
good seats near the front side!
Ed Sheeran and Coldplay have managed to do massive tours and sell in a normal way. I’m pissed off really because I registered 4 times, two in Europe and twice in London. I got one Euro date which I can’t really do and neither of the London registrations seem to have registered as I received nothing at all! DD did and she is waitlisted. I am registered for hospitality but even that looks heavily oversubscribed and I’ve been warned to that effect. Where are people finding money like this?

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 14/07/2023 23:33

I pre registered for Wembley but have heard nothing. I assume that I have not even been waitlisted. It is gutting, my dd is desperate to see her. We saw Harry Styles last month and didn't have to jump through all these hoops. I don't like it, but maybe I am bitter 😭.

Itwasrare · 14/07/2023 23:36

@Allthecatseverywhereallatonce agreed!
I think there will be plenty of waitlist options as I think a lot of US/ Canada fans registered for London and won’t use them. But given I am not even on that, doesn’t help me…!

DiscoDeborah · 14/07/2023 23:38

Waitlisted for two UK cities and not heard from 3rd at all. I was also waitlisted for a European city too.
So pleased I got presale tickets or I wouldn't be going unless one of my friends got a code but I don't think so.

welshdaisy · 14/07/2023 23:39

@HoggyDunlop they were £95 each... I know, even for upper that's a little expensive but I really didn't want to pay any more. All three of my daughters are fans, so my 18 year old is going to take my 16 & 13 year old - whilst I hover somewhere nearby and wait for them Smile

It's shit but this is the only way to try and get tickets to actual fans. Even then, there's fucking arseholes selling tickets for thousands of pounds. It started when some of us were still queueing to join the presale.

That's not as extortionate as I'd have thought tbh. And how lovely for your girls to go together and have a special memory together- that's pretty priceless 😍

It's a bloody farce, all she's done is excluded the real fans that wanted desperately to go
Not cool Tay Tay, not cool #sourgrapes

How would you have suggested it be done then?

QuinnofHearts · 14/07/2023 23:56

Starsandrain · 14/07/2023 22:01

My daughter is desperate to go. Not registered for any codes or anything - how likely am I to get tickets for London? Are they going to be extortionate? Thanks. Never done this before.

I got a code but I might not be using it as I got presale tickets earlier in the week. Give me the weekend to think about it. X

Harrythehappypig · 14/07/2023 23:57

I haven’t received an email at all which is frustrating, I’m sure I followed the right process as I told DH and DC what to do and they got waitlist emails.

DC1 is going with a friend who preordered the album so they have tickets. DC2 is a good bit younger and so only became a fan more recently. Now is probably just as big a fan as DC1 and could have gone with sibling but took the chance of getting general sale tickets so could go with friends - looks like that loyalty gamble has back fired which is a shame.

You joking right? The "true" fans bought pre ordered midnights so we got the presale honey.

PurpleButterflyWings · 14/07/2023 23:59

@QuinnofHearts What a rude, smug post.

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 15/07/2023 00:02

So I have just gone through my emails and I received a code yesterday for Wembley. Fingers crossed for Monday 🤞.

Whattheactualwhatnow · 15/07/2023 00:04

Anyone else not even get an email? I’m confused!

And yet the post before, I'm giving away my code. Gotta keep you guys on your toes!

You can’t give away your code. It only works once you’ve accessed your AXS/Ticketmaster account.

Milk2SugarsAndAShotOfYourFinestValium · 15/07/2023 00:20

7 of us applied, 3 no response, 3 waitlisted, one got codes. All for my DSD so the 4 ticket limit is arguably a blessing 🤣

Whattheactualwhatnow · 15/07/2023 00:31

I applied with 3 diff emails lol and got one reply that I’m waitlisted. Just wondering if you didn’t get an email by the deadline are you never getting one or is it still coming?!
