BC - before Covid

Katjolo · 12/07/2023 23:01

Yesterday.

Goldenbunny · 12/07/2023 23:01

Today to buy a scratchcard the shop only lets you buy them with cash.

DismantledKing · 12/07/2023 23:03

Today, but only because I like to have a few pound coins in case I need them for parking.

SweetAsIcedChocolate · 12/07/2023 23:03

Last week I put cash in a birthday collection at work.
I haven’t used cash in a shop for so long I can’t even remember when it was.

AlltheFs · 12/07/2023 23:03

I use cash once every 6 weeks to pay for something related to my horse. Plus my chiropractor only takes cash at her home (she takes cards at the clinic but she has a small home set up too for regular clients).

That’s it. I hate cash though! I can’t wait to be shot of it.

SweetAsIcedChocolate · 12/07/2023 23:04

I remember. It was in a hospital cafe in April.

clary · 12/07/2023 23:04

Today. I like cash. Me and cash go back a long way.

Tetchypants · 12/07/2023 23:06

Monday - window cleaner - just about the only reason I ever need cash.

EversoDetermined · 12/07/2023 23:07

A few days ago for a pub quiz

Precipice · 12/07/2023 23:07

Earlier today, thrice.

I pay mostly in cash, because I want to demonstrate support for cash payments and keep them around. I am very much against a cashless society for privacy reasons. Also, coins and notes are just nice!

Titsywoo · 12/07/2023 23:07

Can't remember - possibly buying DS some chips from the local chippie that doesn't take card. We did use cash on holiday last week actually but that was abroad.

Skulldrudgery · 12/07/2023 23:09

Today - attended car park near work. It’s the only thing I need cash for these days (other than my £ for shopping trolley)

Gothambutnotahamster · 12/07/2023 23:10

Today in a pub.

macshoto · 12/07/2023 23:11

Last week - for a rural taxi.

gogomoto · 12/07/2023 23:11

Yesterday, to buy milk

Berlinlover · 12/07/2023 23:11

Half an hour ago.

gogomoto · 12/07/2023 23:12

Other times would be the Chinese takeaway who still don't take cards nor deliver, annoying

Today. I like cash. Me and cash go back a long way.

Me too, cash is my good friend and I don't want a cashless Society

Ragwort · 12/07/2023 23:13

Today - charity collection. I always have cash on me ... I manage a small shop and we had a power cut today and could only accept cash for an hour ... fortunately every customer who wanted to buy something had cash on them ...

Catsmere · 12/07/2023 23:13

I use a coin every week to pay at my knitting group. Other than that, I used some the other day at a chemist. Only had it became a friend paid me for a knitting pattern I got for her online.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 12/07/2023 23:14

Yesterday. For hairdressers appointment.

GandTtwice · 12/07/2023 23:15

Today - I bought my lunch sandwich and some birthday cards
Earlier this week I paid for a haircut

CharlotteStreetW1 · 12/07/2023 23:16

I'm on holiday in Europe. Cash is very much king here still.

Barleysugar86 · 12/07/2023 23:17

Today. Kids at primary school selling cakes for fundraising. Yesterday for the playgroup. And the £1 for the trolley at Tesco last weekend.

Surely everyone still uses it quite a bit? I couldn't have used anything else for these.
