Every Wednesday to pay my cleaner.
Every month to pay into the tea fund at work

LlynTegid · 13/07/2023 06:53

Yesterday morning.

NetballHoop · 13/07/2023 06:58

Every day. I would avoid shops that are card only.

There's more than enough tracking of what you buy thrugh stroke cards. I'm not going to make it any easier for them.

Seymour5 · 13/07/2023 06:58

Paid cash to nail tech and window cleaner yesterday. I still always carry a few ££.

HaveYouHeardOfARoadAtlas · 13/07/2023 06:59

At the laundromat last week getting a duvet washed. Felt odd to need to take cash out.

Tangled123 · 13/07/2023 07:01

Last Friday to pay a mechanic an outstanding £5 I owed, and then another £10 to a welder the same day.

I usually use Apple Pay for everything though, I can’t remember the last time I took my card out of the house.

BadlydoneHelen · 13/07/2023 07:04

Yesterday for a collection at work

Beezknees · 13/07/2023 07:05

Yesterday at the local market. They mostly have card readers now but a lot of them still prefer cash. I try to use cash where I can for small businesses and just use my card when I'm shopping online or at bigger retailers/supermarkets.

UseOfWeapons · 13/07/2023 07:09

Yesterday. Cash is tops.

Soubriquet · 13/07/2023 07:09

Friday. Kids had a summer fair at school, and obviously couldn’t use card payments there.

Blanketpolicy · 13/07/2023 07:09

I am at a wedding next week and it is a cash only bar.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 13/07/2023 07:09

Yesterday to reimburse a colleague for lunch and yesterday evening I used cash in the local shop. I take out a certain amount of cash per week as fun money so I am not tapping the phone all over the place.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 13/07/2023 07:10

Yesterday - on holiday abroad. Everywhere here seems to at least give you the choice of cash or card

Parky04 · 13/07/2023 07:10

countrygirl99 · 13/07/2023 05:54

Same here in Finland, Sweden and Italy

Just come back from Croatia, and whilst they did accept card, they preferred cash.

FrivolousTreeDuck · 13/07/2023 07:10

Tuesday.

willowstar · 13/07/2023 07:14

I try to use it whenever I can though it in increasing difficult in some areas. I love cash, I find it far easier to budget with cash and I like how tangible it is. I am uncomfortable with the idea of a cashless society so will use it as much as I can until the inevitable happens.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 13/07/2023 07:15

I always carry a certain amount as I am dead afraid that one day google pay will feck up and I will be stood there like a lemon at the till with no other way to pay.

Teapleasebobb · 13/07/2023 07:17

Quite a bit recently. Paid cash for private music lessons at school, paid in to a couple of collections at work and will pay the window cleaner cash this morning.

EmeraldFox · 13/07/2023 07:20

Three days ago

LoisPrice · 13/07/2023 07:22

Every day this week

Yoyonono · 13/07/2023 07:24

Yesterday. I'm using it a lot at the moment as as lots of end of term stuff needs bits of change

eurochick · 13/07/2023 07:24

A few weeks ago I spent a few quid at a school summer fair. Before that it was for a shared taxi for a night out.

IncomingTraffic · 13/07/2023 07:28

I find it much harder to budget and keep track of cash. I’ve no idea what I spent it on. I’m likely to lose it. Bits of small change accumulate and never really get used.

I generally would just go elsewhere if somewhere is cash only because I’d really rather not have to deal with cash.

Today - charity collection. I always have cash on me ... I manage a small shop and we had a power cut today and could only accept cash for an hour ... fortunately every customer who wanted to buy something had cash on them ...

Good point!

So as a shop manager you want to keep cash a method of payment?
