Taylor Swift Eras Tour Ticket Swap

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 10/07/2023 14:34

Sorry if this has already been asked somewhere else. I wondered if we could set up a list thread for potential ticket swaps!

I have just bought 4 tickets for Edinburgh on the 7th June 2024, obviously I wouldn’t have bought them if I wasn’t happy to travel but I am in the South and any other UK stadium would be more convenient. Posting on the off chance that someone has done similar, but for another venue and Edinburgh would be preferable for them. I know it is early days for ticket sales, but putting it out there for anyone interested.

I would need to check how to do the swap above board so that both parties are covered. Potentially, we “sell” to each other via an official resale site?

@SummaLuvin thanks. I check Ticketmaster and AXS regularly but I’ve not found three/four tickets come up together yet.

I was offered some from a friend of a friend but it turned out to be a scam (realised fairly quickly). Seen lots of people in “hobby” Facebook groups post that say they have tickets for sale and would do it via Ticketmaster but then they asked for a BACS transfer and my Ticketmaster email address or even the login (that was one persistent seller who claimed to be friends with a friend, turned out she had set up a fake facebook profile in my friends name.)

I do wonder if Stubhub is an option as they claim to offer a guarantee but I can’t see why a legit seller would sell via it.

SummaLuvin · 05/02/2024 20:39

The issue is that it is so in demand people don’t need to resale outside of their close circle for the most part. Between me and the two others I’m going with we have around 20 people we know well who would snap our hands off for the 3 tickets if we couldn’t go.

WeCouldLooseThis · 05/02/2024 20:57

Hopefully more tickets will come available on Ticketmaster closer to the dates.

We've a huge unmonitored Facebook group in our city and people are forever posting genuine Apple EarPods, genuine designer handbags and genuine Taylor Swift tickets. They people to pm if interested so they can scam multiple people.

It's a shame they are so many scammers about but also it's a shame it's so easy for the, to scam. I find it annoying that Facebook won't do anything about the scammers

I really don't think you'd manage to find a set of 3 or 4. I think your best option would be buying 2x2 tickets (and preparing to pay through the nose).

Hi. would you consider 19th August. I have 3x tickets in front right standing (14+ only).
would love to swap. Our tickets are £150 each. Might be happy to swap.

Apologies I didn't see your response... Unfortunately one of the group are away from 18.08 so we can't go later.

TheatreFan2052 · 19/02/2024 12:27

Was wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping 2 Hamilton tickets in Edinburgh for 2 Taylor Swift Edinburgh tickets. Have 2 front row seats for Hamilton on opening night in Edinburgh.

Toffeelady2401 · 21/02/2024 21:36

@ChazzyB

Hi
I have PM'd you if you are still interested in swapping?

Violetsky9 · 02/03/2024 16:49

@ghanlon75 I have 2 Ediburgh 8th June tickets if you are still interested in swapping London tickets, give me quick message

Hi. Not sure anyone can help however I’ve bought 2 x Taylor Swift tickets from ticketmaster for £600 each yesterday (must be resale?) and I regretted it within about 30 mins! They are the Liverpool VIP tickets for the Thursday night. Trouble is ticketmaster doesn’t allow me to sell or transfer them so looks like I’m stuck with them. Any advise anyone?

You should be able to resell them to ticket master? You can do 'online chat' with them and ask?

WV23 · 08/03/2024 13:02

Hi. I did the online chat and it basically said that I will get a reply within 12-24 hours but I haven’t had anything back. So frustrating as i don’t mind if I have to lose some of the money i paid.

I don't know for sure but I think you will be able to sell them. You might not get the money back for a while but you should get it back.

I wouldn't entertain selling them on in any other way. There are too many scammers.
It's amazing the number of people on this thread who seem to think that it's safe to try and swap tickets with random people on the internet.

WV23 · 08/03/2024 13:34

Thanks. It’s my own fault, agree regarding scammers as a lot of people who have tickets to sell come under that bracket unfortunately.

veryposhpuppy · 10/03/2024 18:27

We are looking to swap Edinburgh for Liverpool
and have used this Facebook group. It’s scammer free and the girls who run it verify all tickets before you can use the group.

fascinating, how have these girls been able to figure out a way to do this when ticket transfer is not available yet? And exchange will not (as far as we know) ever exist in an official capacity on TM and AXS?

The very idea of swapping tickets relies on trust between parties, that they both will stick to their side of the bargain. Bear in mind that most locations have over 3 days (indicated time before the event tickets go live) between them, so one party will have to transfer before the other has that capability.

All well and good verifying tickets (even then you are putting your trust in the honesty and ability of those running the group to do this), but how can you verify honest intent? I could join that group and have my 3 tickets verified as legit, swap for an earlier date, then renege on swapping on my part.

SummaLuvin · 10/03/2024 18:42

I really don't want to be a party pooper. I understand the desire to swap when some people are lucky to have tickets, but not for their preferred location, in theory it works and is brilliant, but in practice if you can't protect yourself you run the risk of missing out entirely.

veryposhpuppy · 10/03/2024 18:43

Just trying the help summaluvin
Im sure everyone will practice their own due diligence. I have found this group to be most helpful and at present there is no alternative is there?

veryposhpuppy · 10/03/2024 19:04

This is a safe way to do trades. Imagine I have tickets to one show and Fred has tickets to another show and we want to trade. We can do a PayPal backed trade.
One way to do this would be to have both people involved in the trade send eachother a payment via PayPal Goods and Services (ONLY PPGS) for the amount that it would cost to replace the tickets on StubHub or a similar site

Best option I’ve seen

veryposhpuppy · 11/03/2024 08:28

Im looking to swap two standing tickets for Edinburgh on 7th June for any other UK weekend date. We now have a family wedding clash!
Could you PM me here if you would like to discuss further please?

I don't see how this can work. You hopefully get matched with someone honest but even if the tickets are "verified" there is no way of knowing the other party will transfer the tickets to you when they get released.

The PayPal good and services method might work as might using an escrow service. You would have to do an amount of money that would allow you to replace the ticket not the price you paid for the ticket.

Thanks for this
It just as I said - the cost to replace tickets on another site.

Crispsandwichrock · 11/03/2024 23:49

But if there's no tickets for sale you can't replace them? So I could offer to swap tickets with someone who she ones I wanted, get their tickets and not send them anything. Even if they were guaranteed money back they still wouldn't get to see Taylor, and I'd have my tickets!

Exactly! It would only be safe if you were the person whose concert was first but if you were the person who had a concert at a later date you would have no guarantee that you would get the tickets.

chrisaaaaa · 12/03/2024 08:34

Or, you escrow enough cash to make it work.

Eg, both parties lodge ticket price plus say £2000, if linked transactions do not go ahead, at least you will have made £2000 profit on your tickets.

You could use that to go somewhere less popular, buy a higher package or buy a small pile of TS merch to soften the blow.

I think that would work too and if both parties are honest then they should be happy to do it.
