Taylor Swift Eras Tour Ticket Swap

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 10/07/2023 14:34

Sorry if this has already been asked somewhere else. I wondered if we could set up a list thread for potential ticket swaps!

I have just bought 4 tickets for Edinburgh on the 7th June 2024, obviously I wouldn’t have bought them if I wasn’t happy to travel but I am in the South and any other UK stadium would be more convenient. Posting on the off chance that someone has done similar, but for another venue and Edinburgh would be preferable for them. I know it is early days for ticket sales, but putting it out there for anyone interested.

I would need to check how to do the swap above board so that both parties are covered. Potentially, we “sell” to each other via an official resale site?

Hi, thanks for response but I am looking for Edinburgh as I’ve got London tickets which I would like to swap.

ghanlon75 · 15/11/2023 20:35

Have you still got the Edinburgh tickets for Taylor Swift. I have London tickets for 22nd June if you want to swap?

PumkinPorridge · 16/11/2023 13:06

Sorry but it's really reckless to think you can 'swap' tickets with people on the internet. It's not surprising that there are so many scammers about and so many people getting ripped off.

You can sell your tickets back to ticket master but there is no safe way to exchange tickets with someone else.

Maybe if it's someone local and you know them and know where they live you might be in with a chance but trying to do it on a board like Mumsnet is just plain daft.

Hi, I have 3 tickets in front right standing on 19th august in Wembley and would be keen to swap for 3 tickets any other week ideally in the Uk but open to france or other European countries (must be seated as I have a 9 year old). Made a mistake when I booked the ones I have

ChazzyB · 18/11/2023 18:37

I have 3 Taylor swift tickets for 19th August at Wembley I’d like to swap for 3 tickets I June if possible either Wembley or Edinburgh good

SummaLuvin · 18/11/2023 18:59

@PumkinPorridge think the sensible advice is falling on deaf ears…

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 18/11/2023 21:00

I beginning to think Mumsnet should just remove the thread....

A swap would be very useful for me, so for those saying how risky it is, how about suggestions to do it safely since AXS at least make no mention of an escrow service?

chrisaaaaa · 19/11/2023 00:12

For example,

If both parties are on the same provider, AXS or Ticketmaster, then both parties buy the tickets from the other, using the transfer function.

The money can be lodged with an escrow agent, who would only release funds once you confirm you receive the tickets, that would only cost a few quid.
(I am sure there are more, but for instance https://www.transpact.com/default.htm)

Worst case this way might be that you end up without tickets but not out of pocket, but as the transpact people will have to have done KYC checks, you will have the evidence to present to the provider to reverse the transfer.

As the escrow service is cheap you could do one ticket at a time, so the most that could go wrong is that you accidentally sell a ticket.

Even then, you could each agree to sell each ticket at £200 over face value to each other. then if you did loose a ticket, you would at least have £200 towards a t shirt :)

Hello, my DD and I have been given tickets for Taylor Swift's Wembley stadium tour - lucky I know. However they are standing tickets and the small print says it's 14 and over only. She is younger than that although might just pass for 14 with some 'prep'. Does anyone know if they would be strict about checking ID?

ChazzyB · 19/11/2023 07:06

Hello, I have exactly the same problem. Have tickets to the front right standing on 19th august hit my daughter is 10 😞

LittleBumblebee3 · 19/11/2023 07:30

I agree @PumkinPorridge 😬

All those that have standing tickets for under 14s…why buy them in the first place? 🫣 I know some have been given them. That’s unfortunate. They’re very strict about the age limits. It’s for insurance purposes.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 19/11/2023 07:41

But @chrisaaaaa tickets cannot be transferred in the app until about 2 weeks before the concert.

So are you saying the agent would hold the cash for 8 months if people agree to swop now?

PumkinPorridge · 19/11/2023 10:03

Using an escrow service would be a step in the right direction but, as @chrisaaaaa mentioned you might still not end up with the tickets.

Anyone thinking of just swapping or buying from anywhere other than Ticketmaster etc are actually being stupid. (Sorry!) I know it's victim blame'y but you've got to use some common sense.

The fact people are even asking about swaps on Mumsnet shows how gullible people are.

Scammers target and hack local closed groups so even when it looks like it's someone you know it can still be a scammer.

Even when the post

PumkinPorridge · 19/11/2023 10:04

Sorry for typo

Onceuponatime46 · 19/11/2023 10:11

Saw Harry S at Wembley in June and had standing tickets. My DDs were 15 and 14 and we got stopped and questioned by security to check their age as we entered the stadium. No ID was asked for but just checking DOBs etc. I think a child younger than 14 might struggle with standing for hours and the crowds. It is manic! Fun but very very crowded when everyone pushes forward and starts dancing!

chrisaaaaa · 19/11/2023 11:41

Never suggested anything but transfers within AXS or Ticketmaster.

Just a controlled external transaction around it.

There is sufficient time to arrange a swap and actually meet in person to swap live. I some public place etc...

Not of that offers any protection though.

Meeting someone in a public place does nothing if they are a scammer.

Using an escrow service would help but would be awkward to arrange and there would be no guarantee you'd get the tickets.

chloeellisse · 19/11/2023 19:24

Posting as I have 2x ready for it tickets (general admission) at Liverpool 15th June. Wanting to swap for any seated tickets in Liverpool

MCwiththree · 23/11/2023 23:39

Hi, I have x 2 Wembley standing tickets, but am in Scotland so if there were x 2 Edinburgh tickets to swap I’d be willing. A colleague booked 4 and I paid for two. Am not a fan, just taking my daughter. We also have a premier inn booked close to stadium so happy to transfer this too if it helps. Not sure how to do all this as seems to be only just before that can transfer?

amisimba · 12/12/2023 17:29

having the same issue! x my friend can’t do august anymore so i’d love to swap my london august date with a june one! it’s just the 2 tickets xx

veryposhpuppy · 21/12/2023 11:26

I have two tickets for Edinburgh on 7th looking to swap for 9th June in Edinburgh or for a liverpool date. Cousin getting married on the 7th!!
Swap to be done by ticketmaster

auroraswifts · 23/12/2023 20:11

Hi! I am also in the market to swap. We have 4 tickets for Taylor Swift in Aviva Stadium, Dublin on June 30th. Two of the girls are studying medicine and are going to Vietnam for a volunteer placement (wow!) on the 20th of June - so of course they can't go to Taylor anymore. They finish their college exam on the 14th of June so either of the Liverpool dates would be IDEAL! They say they've settled with the idea of not going but I know they are absolutely desperate to go. Is anyone in the same/opposite boat and wants to swap?

Grunty79 · 01/01/2024 19:00

Hi, I have tickets for Liverpool for 13 th June and would like 2 tickets for Edinburgh.

DeepDarkBlue · 01/01/2024 19:06

It's too risky trying to swap tickets. How can you be sure the other person will swap? You don't actually get the tickets until a week or so before the concert.

If you can't swap with someone you actually know in person then it's too risky to do it online with a random person.
