Could we PLEASE have a thread that stays up?

Meaning don't name anyone, or any programme or ask for initials or hint.

I just would like to discuss how this is likely to unfold.

Is the teen male? I didnt think it had been disclosed either way. The Sun (not son) is mentioned a lot.

The PERSON is now 20 years old, very well documented.

JeandeServiette · 09/07/2023 00:54

I remember how bad the Mail were about the David Furnish injunction @kizziee

I can't face the tabloids this late at night, though.

One thing I do predict is that it's never massively surprising when you find out who has been up to no good.

I have no idea what that means.

“My bits” is usually used to describe male, well, bits.

Fleeing the scene of a crime.

LakeTiticaca · 09/07/2023 01:04

Well it's defo not Paul Gambaccini his pic of the pops show was on a normal today

Mammamia2023 · 09/07/2023 01:21

The mum said in the article she ‘immediately recognised him’ and ‘loved watching him on tv’. Half the names being thrown about i’ve had to google! Surely if it’s someone she recognised straight away they’ve got to be really well known 🤔

I mean, did the family sit round for Sunday roast one day and this just dropped into conversation?

Tigh · 09/07/2023 01:27

Addicts will sell their soul, how someone at 17 got to dependency of requiring £350000, now this parent's want to expose this person . They have responsibility to here too.

It’s all very odd, that would be some family dinner!! The whole article doesn’t sit right with me. The son is a dug addict and it’s basically saying he wouldn’t be if he didn’t have the money. That’s not how addiction works. Then saying to his mum oh x is sending me money later. Nah don’t think so. Feel as if something has happened like refusal to send more money and now they have outed them. Not that I agree with what’s happened (thought we have a one sided story) something just doesn’t sit well. I’m pretty sure it’s happened but think they are probably motivated by money here.

lovelydovely · 09/07/2023 01:29

What parent doesn't know their child is on drugs long enough to form a habit, which are not cheap. They take some responsibility here too... dislike parents that allow everything and one but themselves to raise their children. Rant over

Mammamia2023 · 09/07/2023 01:31

Also realise that this could be a girl just the constant use of he and him regarding the presenter has my brain thinking it’s a son.

Tigh · 09/07/2023 01:31

Honestly, I was a bit wild in my teens, it just happens, but grown men preying on it, is sociopathic.

Not drugs btw😇

Just saw an article where someone accused online has reported them to the police for trolling so people should be careful naming names. Imagine sharing your opinion on twitter and the police showing up at your door, I’d die! Also noticed a lot of comments have been deleted on reddit too.

JeandeServiette · 09/07/2023 00:06

Could equally be tv or radio though @BillyNoM8s

Gross individual whoever it is. Why do these perverts always act as though they can get away with it? With complete impunity. Where does the cockiness come from?

How can it be radio? The persons mother says she liked WATCHING this person. You don’t watch radio presenters

To me it’s a boy, you don’t get girls ‘getting their bits out’

Mammamia2023 · 09/07/2023 01:46

Someone on Twitter is very loudly and openly saying that he is friends with the young lads family and it is x. Claims their twitter is taken down now (it’s not i checked), not someone I knew (not a big bbc watcher) but sky news said household name so I’d have assumed it would be someone everyone has heard of like Mr Blobby 😂 Actually feel really sorry for those being accused with no evidence shows how quickly the rumour mill turns! Very scary.

Very true!

CallieQ · 09/07/2023 01:48

Who is the presenter in question

TimeToRecover · 09/07/2023 01:51

Sure being named on ‘Mumsnet’ wont trash their rep @LavanderSmellsLovely

CallieQ · 09/07/2023 01:48

Who is the presenter in question

Adding a name here would just get the thread taken down and I personally wouldn’t want to share any names when I have zero evidence. Took me less than 5 mins on twitter. I can only imagine how stressful this would be if you were innocent but aware of people accusing you all over social media!

Florenz · 09/07/2023 02:00

Whoever it is, the BBC need to get their house in order. This has happened time and time again, and it's clear people within the corporation know it's going on and keep quiet.

Mulhollandmagoo · 09/07/2023 02:39

What are the legalities surrounding it when the victim in over 16? This person has exploited a vulnerable young person, which is absolutely disgusting - but is it illegal? Even if it isn't, they will be finished with the BBC as they won't want to be associated.
