TV presenter allegations

Could we PLEASE have a thread that stays up?

Meaning don't name anyone, or any programme or ask for initials or hint.

I just would like to discuss how this is likely to unfold.

So, a journo friend that I know said that there was one show on Thursday last week where the guest presenter didn't show. 'Who' knows why. But it appears that a certain disliked ladies' recent video mentions the same individual. No idea if true, but it's defo all over twitter. I guess that only time will tell.

So I’m assuming a lot are denying it was them which would mean anyone keeping very quiet is suspicious and maybe doing things like preventing any posts on Instagram etc ?

Are you talking about a video from Katie Hopkins. I think shes just about to be sued by all accounts?

I feel that age of consent should be raised to 18, not 16.
Social media usage ideally 18, but at least 16 ( the owners of BigTech won't let their own kids on the stuff)
Drinking at 18, driving at 18 and military at 18. I don't know why we have different thresholds and arbitrary ages and it's all very archaic and leaves many areas grey and difficult to navigate.

So a man can legally have sex with someone who is 16, but cannot have a topless photo of them when/if they are 17?

The actions of the presenter are gross and abhorrent, I'm pointing out how stupid our laws are and it needs a revamp.

I'm honestly believing these allegations less and less.
I guess I lose my £1 because I have heard the name before, but I couldn't have told you what their regular schtick was, what they presented ever.

They are an especially weird accusee for several reasons, their public persona is such a poor match.

I imagine that BBC gets told all sorts of completely false things their staff are alleged to have done fairly frequently. So question is if BBC acted in line with policy to handle such accusations fairly.

How would you explain the bank transfers and screen shots?

in touch with external authorities Ie met
comfirm it’s a male presenter
expect to be able to give further info in coming days

If it’s who is all over the internet being suggested then everyone is going to know by tomorrow night either way . Which would explain why the bbc are saying they expect to put out another statement shortly.

this one individual has a time limit, it can’t be hidden, he’s either on air and it’s not him or he’s not and it is.

I agree, it's like gloating- I was curious to know who it was, and have an idea- I rarely watch TV so only vaguely recognised the man- was glad it wasn't a presenter I really like .

Sugardaddy arrangement for the money. Not sure what the screen shots are? If they are screen shotsof her child in a sexual poseand she's handed them to the BBC she is way out of order. Respecting your adult child's privacy is surely a basic line in the sand.

But has it actually been reported it was only fans? I've read a lot of articles and haven't seen that reported.

Do we know how the initial contact was made? I've heard suggestions it was OnlyFans, which would then mean that the person lied about their age, and would tie up with the concept of being paid for pictures.

Just rumour and speculation, correct me if wrong!

Absolutely and if the pictures are from when the young person was under 18 she too is guilty of possessing/distributing indecent images and so would the person at the BBC who she sent them to.

Yes. It's illegal to request, possess and share sexualised images of anyone under 18 - even yourself.
If you think someone is over 18 and have sexualised images of them, it's still a crime.

Wouldn't it be treated differently to say someone having such photos of a 13 year old knowing they were 13? I mean say it goes to court I wouldn't think someone who genuinely thought a 17 year old was 18 would deserve the same sentence as the person with the photos of a 13 year old.

We are into summer holiday season, someone innocently on holiday could be wrongly accused.
