Could we PLEASE have a thread that stays up?

Meaning don't name anyone, or any programme or ask for initials or hint.

I just would like to discuss how this is likely to unfold.

Zonder
It's been taken down, so nil now to see.
Why would you think it was the entire Wikipedia site? 🥴
Surely you'd look at the prime suspects wiki pages?

Any idiot can edit Wikipedia though. A footballer from my local L2 team was briefly signed by Real Madrid 😆

Well it's pretty vague to just put wikipedia. And I've looked at the two main people I've been seeing and there's nothing unusual on their wiki.

Are you suggesting Wikipedia isn't 💯 reliable? 😆

You can if the victim is a child.

Do it a lot in my line of work I.e safeguarding.

So do I in my role. But if the victim is not willing to give a victim statement, it will go no where. It will be recorded as an incident of course.

But to suggest that in this case, the Sun newspaper could report that there was a victim here and wants to make a crime report, based on the mothers report is not really feasible.

And not saying I'm sure it's him - a pp mentioned a big wheel which he is quoted talking about in the press release for the new show.

I would find it shocking if it were him.

I just don’t think it’s him. And I don’t think anyone really thinks it is other than a couple f folks, and I can’t see Patel getting involved if it was.

BBC have been in contact with the police

BBC have been in contact with the police

thats likely as now evidence she was 17 provided. I wonder if that was the evidence.

Museya15 · 09/07/2023 15:40

I said it before, it's a news reader, the child in question is a girl who had an only fans account.

Cantlastsixweeksofthis · 09/07/2023 15:40

Is it a big wheel shoe or Wheel of fortune?

One I would be massively shocked about, the other not as much

WhisperingAutistic · 09/07/2023 15:41

Don't the police usually give the age of the suspect? I wonder if they will make a statement?
Maybe not if there is an injunction.

Mammamia2023 · 09/07/2023 01:21

The mum said in the article she ‘immediately recognised him’ and ‘loved watching him on tv’. Half the names being thrown about i’ve had to google! Surely if it’s someone she recognised straight away they’ve got to be really well known 🤔

Unless it’s regional TV, so maybe obvious to the mother in her area but not someone you or I would recognise if we live elsewhere ?

Cantlastsixweeksofthis · 09/07/2023 15:41

@Museya15 Clue to who? And how do you know?

Sunnyfunnytimes · 09/07/2023 15:41

Museya15 · 09/07/2023 15:40

Yes that’s the common thinking, everyone just needs to wait and see if he presents or even denies.

steve11978 · 09/07/2023 15:42

Actually the reports do sate TV presenter as in the interviews the mum said every time she see's the person on TV it makes her sick

Sunnyfunnytimes · 09/07/2023 15:42

Zarataralara · 09/07/2023 15:41

Nearly all the names been thrown around here are household names.

the80sweregreat · 09/07/2023 15:43

I wonder if the victim or mum took a screenshot or a photo of the person involved?
Bank transfers made must be evidence too? (Or would that be seen as a 'gift ' ?)
The victim hasn't come forwards (yet ) so maybe nothing much can be done until they do ?
It's an intriguing case, but it puts the bbc in a bad light as it seems they didn't do anything straight away. The mum probably felt they didn't believe them.

KeepSellChuck · 09/07/2023 15:44

Cantlastsixweeksofthis · 09/07/2023 15:30

@Wenfy Who? Can you give a clue?

Did you (and many others) actually read the OP? It's hardly War and Peace.

Just posting for the deletion message.

You're jumping the gun a bit arent you? For there to be a suspect, there has to be a crime reported. The BBC have been 'in contact' with police, we dont know what that actually entails

Second, there would need to be an arrest, that hasnt happened yet surely?

Contact could simply be seeking guidance and keeping them informed of any potential criminality

Absolutely.

And in fact this may already have been reported to the police, it might be that the police are already investigating, might have NFA'd it, might have decided there is a crime here but they dont have a victim complying with the process.

Who knows

Efacsen · 09/07/2023 15:59

Or could be asking the police how they can protect all their other presenters who are being given such a hard time on SM?

Museya15 · 09/07/2023 15:40

I said it before, it's a news reader, the child in question is a girl who had an only fans account.

The papers yesterday said it was a boy. It says child or teenager now everywhere instead.

Not one paper has mentioned only fans. Are you able to link to your source please?

Wikipedia makes for an interesting read

In general? 😂😂😂

TheOwlChronicles · 09/07/2023 16:05

One particular presenter has limited comments on his Instagram. He was also at the BBC party the other week as reported. And his name is being bandied about and he's not commented yet - probably because he can't deny the truth

From what I've read, his Instagram comments were always limited.
