TV presenter allegations

Could we PLEASE have a thread that stays up?

Meaning don't name anyone, or any programme or ask for initials or hint.

I just would like to discuss how this is likely to unfold.

TBF, super injunctions make a mockery of the whole process.

The “process” being people’s love of to gossip and scandal?

TheOwlChronicles · 09/07/2023 12:35

@Gnittensmum naughty naughty 👿

People treat it like it’s a big game. They can pretend to be horrified but look at the posts on here, the smiley faces, the winks, the excitement at scandal - it’s really unpleasant.

Well said. It's really boring. I feel sorry for the posters getting a thrill out of it all.
They must live such unfulfilled lives.

Personally I think most feel sorry for folks coming onto threads, reading them avidly then attacking everyone for discussing it..,unfulfilling lives, really?

Oh bless you, rushing in to demonstrate your moral superiority. 😅

And yet here you reading it all 😆

Piers Morgan and Kevin O'Sullivan have both said that people will be 'rocked' by the revelation of the name, although they may both just be bullshitting.

"Rocked"?? It's a tv presenter sex scandal, who is going to be rocked by this.

It's like when holly willoughby asked if we were ok and said we must all have been feeling shocked and hurt.

Who is this invested in the lives of tv presenters that this would rock them??

If it is the person who seems to be being accused the most it is very shocking!

Of all the names mentioned so far I can only think of one that would be shocking. Most have always had a bit of "something" that means it wouldn't be a complete shock, possibly why they made the list in the first place.

Curiouscarla · 09/07/2023 12:42

@booktokbear why is it shocking?

gemstoneju · 09/07/2023 12:43

Agree, @booktokbear. None of the others would shock me that much, but there is one being bandied that is very unexpected, so much so that I thought it was a bad joke at first.

booktokbear · 09/07/2023 12:44

@Goldfoot Yes, this is what I mean.

TBF, super injunctions make a mockery of the whole process.

By their very nature super injunctions are not even allowed to be reported that they even exist !

JeandeServiette · 09/07/2023 12:44

The “process” being people’s love of to gossip and scandal?

The process being police investigation and employers' disciplinary action. All this becomes a sideshow hooha.

GrethaGoat · 09/07/2023 12:45

I am mostly shocked why these people take risks like this.

JeandeServiette · 09/07/2023 12:46

True and I'm not sure if there is one. I just mean the huge Carter ruck powered industry in bushing things up. PR efforts actually, as well as legal. The whole thing is unsavoury.

@booktokbear why is it shocking?

A highly professional demeanour, high standing is the community, especially where he was born. Top presenter used for official broadcasts.

You might not find it shocking but I did, if indeed it's even him.

Curiouscarla · 09/07/2023 12:48

So what? He is allowed a sex life and preferences. As long as its not Illegal it is not anyone else's business.

wutheringkites · 09/07/2023 12:48

Odd that The Sun thinks it is in a position to moralise on this issue, they only stopped printing topless women (often only 16 or 17 years old) in 2015.

Sunnyfunnytimes · 09/07/2023 12:49

I must be cynical but I don’t think there is any bbc presenter who I’d be left shocked by doing something like this. I think the only ones would be if like I found out Rishi was on only fans paying young women, or the Archbishop of Canterbury / pope. or William/Charles etc,

bbc presenter, meh not so much. I think it’s likely it’s more someone who portrays themselves as a family man and has a very clean image, but all the media commentators do say it’s a shocker.

People will definitely be shocked, because of the gravitas of the person involved. You just would not expect it from them because of how they conduct themselves on screen.

Personally I think a lot of the moral outrage on here is because many wives and parents don't want to admit to themselves how prolific and popular the OF site is. It makes them have to question that maybe their own husbands or adult children may be on there. Labelling the whole thing as disgusting makes them feel morally safer.

Are you here as an envoy for the porn industry or what?

the person who i thought has a history of depression, so that say, which to my mind means risky behaviour, alcohol issues.

They had used under 18s for nearly 20 years before that. None if it was OK but let's try and get the facts right.
