TV presenter allegations

JeandeServiette · 08/07/2023 23:54

Could we PLEASE have a thread that stays up?

Meaning don't name anyone, or any programme or ask for initials or hint.

I just would like to discuss how this is likely to unfold.

I still have no clue who it is, am I the only one?

I've no idea either

Gnittensmum · 09/07/2023 12:12

Well it’s not Rylan or Vine or Lineker.

Gooniesnecersaydie · 09/07/2023 12:14

It's likely to be a low-level BBC employee that if it was disclosed, most people would say who?

StopFeckingFaffing · 09/07/2023 12:15

@Gnittensmum - is it a high profile presenter that majority of UK public will have heard of?

VisionsOfSplendour · 09/07/2023 12:17

Gnittensmum · 09/07/2023 12:05

I do know who it is. I work in the media and we all know. I’m happy to say who it isn’t.

Is it who everyone is suggesting?

Maybe this is a blip, but check this link out and see if you spot something strange.

Piers Morgan and Kevin O'Sullivan have both said that people will be 'rocked' by the revelation of the name, although they may both just be bullshitting.

Possibly removed but I can’t see you getting done for libel 😜

CwmYoy · 09/07/2023 11:48

I'm a bit confused. Has the person involved complained? S/he is 20 now so able to speak for him or herself.

Maybe this person didn't want it splashed all over the papers and wanted to keep it private and move on.

The parents have overstepped massively if this is the case.

I do t quite agree. I’d do similar if I found out my then 17 year old was being paid for sexually explicit photos for 3 years . I don’t think I could take your approach if well they are an adult now, so meh, their choice.

QueefQueen80s · 09/07/2023 12:22

@NotTheOtherMother Times have thankfully moved on and it's recognised as disgusting.

Men- stick to your own age ffs.

TheOwlChronicles · 09/07/2023 12:23

@Gnittensmum Ive taken my chances Grin

Willmafrockfit · 09/07/2023 12:23

it was the first person i thought of,
coincidentally

JeandeServiette · 09/07/2023 12:26

Missed that @TheOwlChronicles

I expect it will be all over the MSM soon.

Am I going to be horribly disappointed in someone who previously seemed wholesome?

More importantly, I hope BBC have got a pan for handling this impeccably.

Oh didn't you hear? We don't have news between November and July. Confused

Sorry, I shouldn't have named him. Apologies.

It'll be all over the news in time

People treat it like it’s a big game. They can pretend to be horrified but look at the posts on here, the smiley faces, the winks, the excitement at scandal - it’s really unpleasant.

TBF, super injunctions make a mockery of the whole process.

Actually it shows up how the fact that social media is US-owned is making some of our laws untenable - for better or worse.

I dont agree, they are only granted by a judge if the public knowledge would be damaging for certain reasons. Like the persons children. I think justice can be served, or due process, without the name being released into the public and their kids getting bullied in school

They are drama llamas so possibly. But I think it also depends what demographic you're in.

I frequently have no idea who people on Strictly for e.g are these days. Even if it seems they're extremely popular and well-known.
