TV presenter allegations

JeandeServiette · 08/07/2023 23:54

Could we PLEASE have a thread that stays up?

Meaning don't name anyone, or any programme or ask for initials or hint.

I just would like to discuss how this is likely to unfold.

I don't have a TV so can you explain what this ys supposed to show? It's a clip from 5 July ?

A television isn't needed to listen to the clips and spot the difference

Imnotswallowingthat · 09/07/2023 09:39

A certain Welsh newsreader who also anchors coverage of royal events. Was scheduled to be doing his regular Radio Cymru show this morning but for some reason has been replaced at short notice. Wonder why ?

They regularly change the presenters on that show.

Im not passing any comment on the content of the clips, the pp was asking what the point of them was

I don't watch the one show so have no clue about the presenters

there is no point. That is the point.

I liked seeing Top BBC star on TV until my child showed me pictures of him on his sofa in his pants

Interesting use of random capital T in The Sun’s headline, there.

Might be an illiterate journo…on the other hand, might be one of those sneaky clues.

I noticed that too.

Willmafrockfit · 09/07/2023 09:48

oh dear, my initial thought/suspicion seems confirmed.

Backstreets · 09/07/2023 09:48

I can see it from the mums POV. A celebrity took advantage of her teenager and sent them enough money to form a drug habit. If it had been some local banker nothing would have happened and nobody would have cared. But she has enough evidence of sordid conduct to ruin his career, and protect other young people from being taken advantage of the same way.

The shadow outline on the Daily Mail is interesting. I've shown it to my family and all immediately and independently said it was 'name'.

This person fits it all- but again if it isn't it seems very unfair. I do think that whatever happens it needs to be dealt with quickly.

As for why, I'm with the other posters, it's men. Although why so much money needed to be sent I'm unclear- sadly I know that many youths (and I see that as a term for either sex, as I do the term 'bits') do this for much less.

Well we don't know do we? Has that person denied it is them?

But either way my explanation of what the clip is purporting to suggest still stands

The girl was onlyfans, I don't know how she got an account as I thought they would've been quite strict.

A man who has just done 7 years on the board of C4 says the key thing for the BBC will be did they implement everything they said they would after the Dame Janet Smith Review into how Saville got away with it for so long.

We don't know it's a girl. The papers said boy at first and how now changed it to child.

And if the headline was 'BBC presenter uses only fans' is that quite so shocking?? Probably not. Is the issue the actually the platform and not the person? How would he know the age of the person?

Is the anger being misdirected.....should we be calling for sites like that to be taken down/more heavily regulated/etc

Caroline Dinenage? Yes she sounds furious, so I think she’s been briefed and isn’t at all happy. She can use parliamentary privilege on Tuesday and name him if she wants.

If Caroline Dinenage was genuinely furious at this type of behaviour, she would have left the parliamentary Conservative Party long ago.

Caroline Dinenage's faux fury is masking relief that it wasn't one of her Conservative Party colleagues who she sits next to in the House of Commons, for a change.

This story has very conveniently kept the allegations that the former Conservative Chancellor of the Exchequer was having sex in toilets with drunk sixteen year old girls from the front pages.

Yes, female.

How do you know?

Obviously they could but have you ever heard the term get your bits out in relation to boobs? I havent

Bits usually means below the waste, can be male or female. Well it does around here.

Don't sit on the wall love, you'll freeze you bits. Said to me often by my Nana

Willmafrockfit · 09/07/2023 09:58

mum didnt want to prosecute she just wants it to stop

How big are your boobs that they'd touch the wall when sitting down 😂😂

Isn't it just one clip, how is there a difference to spot? I'll go try again.

@NoraBattysCurlers Curious about your last paragraph. Are there ongoing investigations on this? I’d have thought that allegations of a former Conservative Chancellor of the Exchequer would be investigated thoroughly.

Well if that outline is correct it's not who I guessed. And I'm relieved!

But dammit I've clicked on the Fail now. Feeling pretty grubby myself now :(
