Bleach - Where do you actually use bleach clean around the house?

Exactly that really. Where do you actually use bleach to clean around the house?

I see on my bleach bottle instructions it suggests bleach can be used to clean toilets, kitchen/bathroom drains, sinks, floors, and work surfaces.

Does anyone actually use bleach for those other bits around the house, or do you mainly just use bleach for the toilet?

Just the loo.

orangeclubsarebest · 06/07/2023 20:25

The toilet and the kitchen sink as it's white ceramic so gets stained.

Chocolateatanyop · 06/07/2023 20:25

I use it in the shower grouting, to soak the bath non slip mat, the bath toys and the bath bag thing that holds the toys.
I use it diluted in the kitchen sink to soak cloths in.

TravellingSpoon · 06/07/2023 20:26

Toilet, and I bleach my dishcloths overnight.

AuroraForever · 06/07/2023 20:27

We have some but only really use it for the bins. Harpic for the toilets. Flash for the the kitchen and bathrooms.

SirChenjins · 06/07/2023 20:27

Loos, sinks and bleaching white clothes that have stains on them.

mynameiscalypso · 06/07/2023 20:29

Mainly the loo and bleaching vomit-receptacles from time to time

Isseywith3witchycats · 06/07/2023 20:30

mainly down the loo we have cats so i cant use it on floors or worktops as cats think bleach is wee from another cat and would wee on top and i dont want cat wee on my worktops

SoWhatEh · 06/07/2023 20:32

I use it mainly for the kitchen sink and sometimes for the bathroom tiles. Almost never down the loo as I give the loo a quick clean every day.

CapEBarra · 06/07/2023 20:32

Toilets, occasionally I put it on a cloth and wipe down the shower tiles, grout and flooring, squirt it down the plug holes now and again, put a capful in a sink bowl of water to whiten whites (I keep a close eye on it).

BoobyDazzler · 06/07/2023 20:34

Just the loo usually. Very occasionally a squirt in the washing machine when I’m washing the shower curtain., or similar.

Mum2jenny · 06/07/2023 20:36

I do not use bleach at all, there’s absolutely no need for it imo.

2bazookas · 06/07/2023 20:36

Never.

wetpebbles · 06/07/2023 20:39

The fumes burn my eyes and make me feel breathless so I can't use anymore

Goldencup · 06/07/2023 20:43

Toilets, shower tray and plug holes.

Mischance · 06/07/2023 20:44

Never - I have a biodigester.

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 06/07/2023 20:45

Toilets, sink drains, floors.

FuckingHateRats · 06/07/2023 20:46

Toilet, sink, a little splash to the bucket when mopping the floors. I use some bleach if I'm cleaning out the bins.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/07/2023 20:46

The toilet

ApolloandDaphne · 06/07/2023 20:47

Toilets and kitchen sink here.

TheChosenTwo · 06/07/2023 20:48

I don’t use it at all, I can’t stomach the smell of it plus I don’t really think it ‘cleans’ anything.

CopperSeahorses · 06/07/2023 20:51

I don't use it anywhere, I rely on a septic tank for waste water and have always been taught that bleach is very bad for the balance of the tank.

Tiredmummaoftwo · 06/07/2023 20:53

I don't use it as I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that bleach damages the porcelain and scores it so it stains even worse?

Seddon · 06/07/2023 20:55

I don't buy it either. I have a mould killing spray for the bathroom grout which smells like it's primarily bleach, and it might be in the toilet cleaner.

But I'm actually quite scared of actual bleach and it ruining clothes etc. Not to mention the awful fumes!
