Topless on holiday with tween DC?

On holiday in France with DH, DD11 and DS10. About third of women on beach are topless.
DH very keen that I join them (I did happily last time we went on holiday). But I feel that it will embarrass the DC.
Am I being prudish given there’s plenty doing it and I absolutely would if DC weren’t there, or am I being respectful of their feelings?

Ok, DS is only 7 but if he sees me in a state if undress it absolutely is not an issue, he knows mummy's breasts fed him for 6 months, why are we treating the most natural thing in the world as some sort of perversion?

It was OP wording. Lots of people are themselves and confident without taking their bikini top off. It did sound as though it was some sort of turn on for him and that's not an issue but whilst and in front of their own kids I don't agree with that type of thing.

So it depends on the size of your boobs? That makes me glad to be part of a community where that is not the point and is irrelevant. I have been thin and young, and also fat and old on an FKK beach. No difference in how anyone regards you. THAT is the point.

Unfortunately this is it. Don't think I'm happy about it, I'm a 32E cup. I'm just stating the obvious,

Not going topless in front of your [near] teenage son or daughter is like living in the dark ages. Wake. Up. Sheeple.

Well good for you. I have no need to feel embarrassed by my G cups. They have done their job feeding three DC and deserve their place in the sun. Why should those of us large of nork be made to feel ashamed?

@Maireas and @tescocreditcard schools have been on holiday for over two weeks already.
And yes that's UK. No it's not private schools. It's Scotland where we've done summer holidays June to August for over 70 years yet somehow England are alway so surprised every single year to find out that we aren't still in school in July.
But funny enough we all know English school holidays are July to September. Might be nice to be shown the same courtesy of knowing what happens elsewhere in the UK and less of the presumption we all do the same as England.
Also apologies if you're actually Welsh rather than English, although if you're Welsh then you'll also relate to how England-centric the UK is with stuff like this 😄

Absolute rubbish. You have zero understanding of the FKK lifestyle.

I know I got assaulted by a middle aged man who was a big fan of 'the FKK lifestyle' who tried to pull my swimsuit off when I was a teenage girl. So what with that and my traumatised best friend whose experiences with her parents I'm not prepared to share here as they're not my stories to tell, I think there are lot of decidedly unsavoury people who are big fans.

Good for you, but no way would I be letting it hang in front of my teenage children. I don't think it makes people have a better relationship with their bodies to see their parents naked, I'd say the opposite in my very personal opinion.

I didn't mean that. I meant that if you live in a place where a certain amount of public nudity is basically normal then you grow up seeing a variety of normal bodies in all shapes and sizes and ages and don't end up with unrealistic expectations of what naked people should look like.

I definitely think that, but d it's something you haven't done in front of them before then it's an odd age for them to start seeing your naked boobs out. I'm not saying they or we should be ashamed of our norks but for a few years it doesn't hurt to respect what may be a boundary for them.

My DC asked me politely not to sunbathe topless once they were old enough as they didn’t want to be looking at their mum’s boobs. I respected their wishes.

BTW I started my holidays on the 28th June

What is FKK?

It's an abbreviation for the German term Frei-körper-kultur meaning free body culture.
