Fox. I know Fox Mulder and all that, but where I live, pretty unusual!

I know a Fox - he lives near Cambridge. Is it the same one?

My dd has a fairly uncommon name but it’s def more popular these days - it’s prompted me to look it up. She was always disappointed not to find personalised stuff as a kid!!

It was the name of a child at a mum and baby singing group

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 04/07/2023 07:54

Mine. I’m not going to out myself as mine I don’t think is even a name really! It’s Russian/polish and very similar to a girl’s name there.

Have heard of Moon, and I think some others which I’ve forgotten now. 70s childhood innit!

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 04/07/2023 07:55

My DB has given his DS an unusual first name in that it’s not British and one of his middle names is the name of an animal.

Elodie. Hadn't heard it before. This was years ago, so it may be more popular now, I just haven't heard it since.

Health visitors daughter was called Flavia Elodie Moonbeam.

Givemeallthepasta · 04/07/2023 07:59

I went to school with a boy called Skelton. Not surprisingly everyone called him Skeleton!

‘L-a’, which was pronounced Ladasha. Craziest I ever heard.

Already been outed as an urban myth 🙄

brionglóid · 04/07/2023 08:02

I once met a little girl called Laisirfhíona,.pronounced lassereeona, with the emphasis on ee . It's an old Irish name meaning flame of wine. As someone who loves Irish names, this was unusual to me. The bearer of the name had beautiful auburn hair.

nopainnogain1 · 04/07/2023 08:05

Vismanté, which sounds beautiful and suited her perfectly. I since found out that it's a Lithuanian name, but she's not of that heritage.

Greeneyegirl · 04/07/2023 08:11

I love unusual and creative names so really enjoying this thread

JaffaCake70 · 04/07/2023 08:12

I grew up on a street with a cemetery at the end. In the cemetery there was (and still is) a grave with the names Euphemia and Lancelot Tulip on it. I think these names are beautiful and someday I hope to find the time to write a story with these people as my lead characters 😊 ❤️

Appleass · 04/07/2023 08:14

Went to school with an Hank in the 70's never heard of another.

Candycats · 04/07/2023 08:15

@Candycats did she have two sisters and a brother?

I can't remember to be honest, I knew her in infant school so it was a long time ago!

FuckYouCate · 04/07/2023 08:17

Little boys called Sorley and Sholto. Both unusual Scottish names. Also a toddler called Norrie.

kwetu · 04/07/2023 08:18

I knew a young lady called Twinkle. She was beautiful inside and out.
