The most unusual names I’ve come across recently are

Quinn
Nyla
Charnce
Fox
Remus
Dash

DD has a Tinkerbelle in her year and we know a family of 4 called Aubrey, Audrey, Alain and Albie not overly unusual names but always makes me think the parents couldn’t be arsed to go any further down the alphabet for names lol.

And my favourite Ottilie - if I had come across this name 15 years ago, I would have given it to dd, it’s lovely imo.

‘Alswitha’. I am interested family history/ genealogy and found it when researching my grandmothers side. It’s a woman’s name, she’s one of my great grandmothers sisters so my great aunt I suppose. Her siblings all have regular names such as Mary, Alice etc.

SunonmyFace · 04/07/2023 08:32

‘L-a’, which was pronounced Ladasha. Craziest I ever heard.

Here we go again 🙄
You haven’t come across this name before. It’s a racist urban myth that has been doing the rounds on the internet since the early days of Facebook.

Not Wyborn?

That's a Norse name isn't it?

It’s possible. He was taught by a colleague a long, long time ago, and I may have misremembered the spelling. 😔
I do love the misspelled names though. It takes a lot of obstinacy strength on behalf of both parent and child not to silently correct a spelling once they have realised it’s unusual. Here’s to the Jhons, Georgenna’s, Samanther’s and Pheobe’s I have encountered over the years!
