Has anyone else not had covid?

For the whole of the period covid was rampant I wasn't ill once. Just before I had pneumonia, went away with antibiotics. Ds2 tested positive, but wasn't actually ill, the rest of us were all resolutely negative. I find it weird, surely I should have had it by now?

Yes. Me. Despite having a host of other health problems, living in central london and working through the pandemic

Cheezecake · 02/07/2023 20:34

Apparently I haven't. My dd got it twice so I had to take time off work to look after her, but each time I felt yuck it wasn't covid. I used buses, didn't wear a mask for health reasons, and went into a busy city for work.

MatJas · 02/07/2023 20:35

Myself and dd haven’t had it, my dh and ds both had earlier this year and we were still ok, tested to check 🤷‍♀️

My ds has never had it. His year group at school had LOADS of cases when they first went back so he was testing twice a week but never got anything. In the household we've had covid 10 times between us (all separately) and he's still never caught it.

LadyWithLapdog · 02/07/2023 20:37

One of my DCs. Goes to school etc. We’ve tested every time for a fever and a sniffle. We have some tests left over and I last tested her about a month ago. Nothing.

NoTouch · 02/07/2023 20:38

My immediate family haven't knowingly had it (dh, ds and I). Extended family of mum, 7 siblings, partners and nieces/nephews on both sides - 29 people - 4 have knowingly had it.

1 caught in hospital and died, 1 worked in care home and was admitted to hospital. Both were before vaccines.

2 caught while on holiday with 4 other friends, they were all vaccinated but everyone was floored with it for the entire holiday.

Really surprised ds(19) hasnt knowingly had it as he is at uni, works handling money and with customers, very social and has been in direct contact, once in a car for several hours, with a few friends who tested positive later the same day.

Glittertwins · 02/07/2023 20:38

No one in this house has had it.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 02/07/2023 20:38

I’ve not had it. Husband and DS both have. I never had any childhood illnesses either when my brother and sister both did.

cravingmilkshake · 02/07/2023 20:39

My family of 5 ! Me and my husband never got it, our daughter was 7 months when we went into lockdown and she was in childcare and never caught it. We now have almost two year old twins and none of us have had it! Constantly tested too!

Alighttouchonthetiller · 02/07/2023 20:40

DH hasn't had it. Everyone else I know has had it at least once.

ZIEVAR · 02/07/2023 20:40

I don't think that this a particulary sensitive thread. Yes I have have it. My husband died from it, and I really don't want to be reminded of that terrible time.. Well done if you have escaped, but please be a bit compassionate.

Jennalong · 02/07/2023 20:41

Myself and dh haven't caught it . However dh was classed as cev during lockdown so we pretty much isolated during it .

Diddykong · 02/07/2023 20:42

No one in our family has ever tested as we wfh, weren't going out during the peak of it and if our DC got it then they'd get it from their school/nursery so didn't feel there was much point. So we may have had it but no idea!

We get weekly emails from nursery still saying they have covid cases in some of the classes. I don't even know where people find tests or why they are bothering at this point?

Work2live · 02/07/2023 20:42

Me and my DH both haven’t (as far as we’re aware).

I’ve had a couple of nasty colds since Covid started, but PCR and lateral flows were always negative. I could’ve had it and not known.

Stratocumulus · 02/07/2023 20:43

My mum! She’s nearly 100 years old. Takes care of herself, cleaning, shopping on the High Street via the bus, laundry & cooking.
I’ve had it, she absolutely has not! Thank goodness.

KnownByAssociation · 02/07/2023 20:43

Never tested positive for it but I'm under no illusion that I must have had it at some point!

BoobyDazzler · 02/07/2023 20:44

Me, I haven’t, despite working in peoples home all the way through the pandemic and going shopping every day to relive the boredom.

I thought I’d finally got it a few weeks ago but tested negative so must have just been flu. My DS hasn’t with. But DH and DD have…. I didn’t even dm catch it then, despite sharing a bed with DH when he was coughing and spluttering.

Orbitsound · 02/07/2023 20:46

No one in this house, we all worked through outside our home too.

HOW DO I REPORT A THEAD, PLEASE?

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 02/07/2023 20:49

Never. Despite spending the first 2 years of it on a clinical NHS site.

BabySocksNeverStayOn · 02/07/2023 20:49

Nope, never had it!

Are you OK mate.

We never have as far as we know. But it’s hard to know.
We wfh through it all, didn’t mix much, go to crowded places or use public transport. If we did get a sniffle or something we tested and were always negative.
However - everyone knows the tests weren’t always accurate or didn’t always pick it up, and that you could have it and be asymptomatic. So maybe we have had it.
I used to log status on the Zoe app every day and participated in a test to see if I had Covid antibodies, which would indicate having had it. It was a finger prick blood test. It came back positive for antibodies, but also said that could be because of having had the vaccine (we had every jab every time it was offered).
So I guess we’ll never know! I think we’ve been extremely lucky. Everyone we know has had it. Often twice. Thankfully no deaths.

Maybe an early night chick?

I haven't had it either. The rest of the house has but I didn't. Most odd
