Has anyone else not had covid?

For the whole of the period covid was rampant I wasn't ill once. Just before I had pneumonia, went away with antibiotics. Ds2 tested positive, but wasn't actually ill, the rest of us were all resolutely negative. I find it weird, surely I should have had it by now?

I tested positive for antibodies through work but have no idea when I had it.
I suspect there are many thousands like that.

Oh OP, Boris et al. had parties because they're narcissists who think they're above the law, and because they knew their position and power would get them the best possible care. Not because it wasn't a dangerous disease. Lockdowns were necessary because vulnerable people don't live in bubbles, they're part of households with non-vulnerable people who would still have had to go to work, school etc without lockdowns. Almost every country in the world locked down at some point.

You say you have lots of comorbidities but didn't fancy the vaccine? Mmm, ok.

MariaVT65 · 04/07/2023 07:16

DH and I have never knowingly had it. We both had coughs once (no other symptoms) once but this was before testing. We both felt really poorly after the vaccines. My brother chose not to have the vaccine and had it twice but just had a bit of a headache both times.

This is quite local to me regarding the survival of plague victims in Eyam in Derbyshire. They have tested the known descendants of the plague outbreak who have a blip in their DNA which was why they survived and also means they are immune to HIV.

Without the break many more would have died, I mean the break really messed up my families lives for multiple reasons.

The other thing about vulnerable people is many young and old have vulnerabilities that they do not know of. Like those really healthy do a lot of sport young men that drop dead playing football.

DS GF brother had covid and zero symptoms, it was that Christmas where people were testing and as they were seeing their 85 year old granny they did. He would never have known. Each individuals body is so unique as is everyone’s personality, the pandemic really did assist me with discovering what individuals were really like.

Luck of the draw. Worked throughout covid on ICU.
In very lengthy contact with a patient on high flow fio2 who unknowingly had covid (negative PCRs). I was literally close up fiddling with his nasal specs. At that point we weren't wearing surgimasks. Me and 12 others all had to self isolate and none of us caught it. Plus numerous close contacts with covid positive colleagues, same.
Fast forward Dec 2020 caught it off hubby. Long covid and off for almost a year. Still suffering with some symptoms. At that point was never ill, no underlying conditions, relatively fit for age.

I also think some people were super spreaders and others were the opposite and shed barely any virus. Hence people being in very close contact with confirmed cases and not picking it up.

I haven't had it, neither has my husband or any member of our family and we don't know anyone that has had it, no friends of ours or colleagues of my husbands.

Wow, that must be pretty rare. I know very few people who haven't had it (I haven't), but know several who have had it more than once.

Me!

Willowkins · 10/07/2023 06:59

I cheerfully reported up thread that I hadn't had it. However, I just tested myself because my DS tested positive and it turns out I have it too. After all this time.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 24/09/2023 11:50

My middle.son has never knowingly had it or tested positive when he's been unwell .
