Has anyone else not had covid?

For the whole of the period covid was rampant I wasn't ill once. Just before I had pneumonia, went away with antibiotics. Ds2 tested positive, but wasn't actually ill, the rest of us were all resolutely negative. I find it weird, surely I should have had it by now?

I haven’t (& have been in a weekly then fortnightly testing study, never had antibodies until vaccinated either) DH & DD have.

It's bizarre that some people just don't seem susceptible, yet a lot people say that they have had it multiple times.

Me and my daughter have t had it. I mean I guess I could have, asymptomatically. But she's been tested every week at school while it was ongoing and no. Plus she's on the tube every day whereas i wfh.
My son probably has but rarely tested himself. If he did it was mild.
My sisters in the US, one a doctor one with a vulnerable child (so had vaccinations early and all the boosters) have had it three times! First time before vaccinations. Unfortunately one has never regained sense of smell or taste.

I have loads of comorbidities too, I should probably stop blabbing, it will get me

Family of five and don't think any of us have had it, we did all test a fair bit when that was a thing due to schools / jobs too.

jolaylasofia · 02/07/2023 21:20

hubby never had it but ihes had a few colds since it blew over and never tested so reckon he has without knowing

some people have it and don't show any symptoms so wouldn't have tested

Floralnomad · 02/07/2023 21:26

None of my immediate family have had it , or either of my sisters and we go out as much as we did pre pandemic ( concerts / theatre / restaurants etc) and our eldest is a teacher .

LorraineInSpain · 02/07/2023 21:26

I’ve never had it as far as I know, and due to family members I tested regularly and still do before I see them.

I assume I must have done at some point, though, as I’ve been on public transport a lot.

GameOverBoys · 02/07/2023 21:27

Never tested positive despite many many close contacts and lots of testing (front line worker)
Why didn’t you get the vaccine?

tennissquare · 02/07/2023 21:27

I've never had covid and neither has my
husband and we've had plenty of contact with our dc etc who've had it.
I think the percentage of the U.K. population who haven't had it is quite high and they are doing as many studies into why some people haven't had it as why some have.

Didn't want to.

2 teenager dc here not had it. Even when two of us had it.

lljkk · 02/07/2023 21:30

i assume I must have had it, probably many times.

SisyphusDad · 02/07/2023 21:31

To the best of my knowledge neither I nor DS2 have had it but DS1 has

LetUsPounce · 02/07/2023 21:33

Neither DD nor I have had it but DH has.

Norachance · 02/07/2023 21:37

I haven't had it. Dh and dd have had it twice.
I have had two antibody tests as part of an nhs survey. I had antibodies from vaccination only.

Phos · 02/07/2023 21:40

I haven't had it to my knowledge. DH had it but neither DD nor I caught it.

I was really ill around this time last year with temperature, chills, nausea, blocked nose, general malaise and tiredness and was convinced that was it but all the tests I took were negative.

nzborn · 02/07/2023 21:41

meeeeee

Theoldgreygoose · 02/07/2023 21:41

I haven't had it, neither has my boss (despite her whole family having it), nor my exDH, nor my late DF (only died a few months ago) despite living in a retirement facility attached to a rest home. One of my friends hasn't had it either so it's really not that uncommon.

Theoldgreygoose · 02/07/2023 21:42

I forgot to say, I'm in NZ where we are supposed to test so all the people I know would do so. I've had two bad colds recently, but they weren't covid.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 02/07/2023 21:44

If I've had it I was completely unaware! Tested a few times when I had mild symptoms and when one of my kids had it but never had a positive test.

Bonjovispjs · 02/07/2023 21:47

Never had it even though I was in close contact with people who had. Worked all through and have some medical issues.

Gherkingreen · 02/07/2023 21:53

I haven't had it, neither has DH. Both teen DCs had it, older one had it twice (had to miss an A level exam last yr due to testing +), younger one had it once, both were what I would consider very rough with it. Both were in FT education during the pandemic.
DH and I were just very lucky I think.

TenoringBehind · 02/07/2023 21:55

Pretty sure I’ve never had it. I was on a vaccine trial and as part of that had to do regular testing until very recently (and daily testing if I ever had any symptoms).

TenoringBehind · 02/07/2023 21:56

Both dc’s have had it twice (that we know of)
