Has anyone else not had covid?

For the whole of the period covid was rampant I wasn't ill once. Just before I had pneumonia, went away with antibiotics. Ds2 tested positive, but wasn't actually ill, the rest of us were all resolutely negative. I find it weird, surely I should have had it by now?

I do wonder if some people have a natural immunity as there seem to be quite a few people who haven't had it who worked throughout, no vaccination, took public transport etc

People I know who haven't had it tend to have worked from home, don't go out in big groups etc

Silverbook · 02/07/2023 22:37

DH had it twice. I worked through the pandemic and was testing twice a week- no positive tests even when DH was positive.

Of course everyone has an agenda. Yours might just be curiosity or it might be something else.

I do wonder if I had it in Jan 2020, when I had pneumonia, kids had been pretty ill beforehand.

scrivette · 02/07/2023 22:40

I haven't had it. The other 5 have but I managed to avoid it, despite testing whilst DH and DC had it.

itsapalaver · 02/07/2023 22:42

My adult DS hasn't knowingly had it. A couple of times he had symptoms but tested negative, including pcr tests.

Get over yourself. You obviously want to mark me as some kind of conspiracy theorist for daring to talk about it. God forbid people don't constantly wank on, I will freely admit that the measures taken were fucking ridiculous, the government also thought so, they had parties and everything Hmm

My DC and myself have had it, no symptoms with them but my only one was slight fatigue. DH was around us all but never caught it, he was the main one going to the shops etc, too.

I don't see op as having an agenda. The conversation is flowing nicely except for the lady who sadly lost her husband so is going to be more sensitive around it and the other person who is pointing fingers at some 'agenda'.
It's just talking, not a cult initiation.

Hbh17 · 02/07/2023 22:46

Me, as far as I know. And I don't know anyone who has tested for - probably - years, so how would we ever know? It's a minor illness, it doesn't matter.

Hbh17 · 02/07/2023 22:49

I have had all my Covid vaccinations tho - no reason not to, but it was mainly because of fear of not being allowed to travel, tbh.

You decided to drop in that little ‘I haven’t had the vaccine’ nugget. Feels like there is something you want to say but aren’t. Your subsequent posts are making you sound a little like a you might have some ‘interesting’ views that you aren’t being upfront about.
Im not sure what you mean by ‘wank on’

WinniFinniHadog · 02/07/2023 22:53

I was a "front line worker" tested daily, never had, never even had symptoms, I can't remember the last time I had a cold, I've also never had influenza of any type. I've also never had a chest infection, but do get tonsillitis during flu season.

We're a 4 generation household.

80+ year old never had it
50+ year old secondary school teacher never had it.
30+ year old front line worker never had it
Primary aged school child in childcare hubs or school, never had it.

The household all genetically linked by direct descent, nobody had it. And we weren't exactly good at "the rules" plus 80+ year old refused to shield and kept nagging me to take her to Tesco at least twice a week. 🤦🏻‍♀️ She was bored.

WinniFinniHadog · 02/07/2023 22:54

I'll add all of us 18+ are fully 3 dose vaccinated. Child wasn't, he refused he won't even take the nasal spray flu, but that's a sensory thing. 😬

ItsJustNotHappening · 02/07/2023 23:04

No, never had it and still test regularly because of my job.

Vetoncall · 02/07/2023 23:05

Neither DP nor I have had it - or at least we've never tested positive. He wfh throughout the pandemic, I obviously couldn't in my job. Most of my colleagues have had it at some stage, a couple more than once. My parents haven't had it either and my DM works in healthcare. We're all fully vaccinated.

TheNestedIf · 02/07/2023 23:06

I haven't had it. I was quite rigid about hygiene before the pandemic, and I barely went out, so I didn't expect to catch it of my own accord. My ex, who was almost always the one who brought a cough or cold back, had to test daily for his job, plus I hardly ever saw him anyway because he was far too busy with the other woman.

ItsJustNotHappening · 02/07/2023 23:13

Posted too soon. I’ve no idea why I’ve not caught it. I see many people during the day in my job and did so even in the early stages of Covid. I’m O Neg blood type and I’ve seen some interesting medical articles that some blood types are less susceptible to this particular virus. On the other hand maybe I’ve just been lucky.

Topseyt123 · 02/07/2023 23:13

My adult DD1 has never had it, to her knowledge or ours. She had to test fairly regularly during the height of the pandemic.

The rest of us have had it, more than once in the case of my DD3 (also in her twenties). In fact, DD1 and DD3 had shared a car and gone to/from a music festival together when DD3 became ill with it. DD1 tested multiple times after that and never got it.

Both were vaccinated at the time, and have had all the advised boosters.

Berlinlover · 02/07/2023 23:16

I’ve sat on a supermarket checkout for the past three years without a sniffle, the vast majority of my colleagues have never had Covid. We are proof that the lockdowns were absolute nonsense.

WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS THREAD? IT IS DISGUSTING. AND WHAT IS IT HOPEING TO ACHIEVE. OR ANYONE ASWERING TO IT.
THE MONITOR SHOULD BE REMOVING IT.

I'm very sorry for what you have been through, but I disagree that it is an insensitive thread. It doesn't need removed.

I suggest you hide the it.

Willowkins · 02/07/2023 23:20

No one in our house got it. DC both at school/college so studying online. I was still working but only going in once a week and I was very careful.
I went off tomato puree for a bit and thought that might be the start of it but tested negative.

Catsmere · 02/07/2023 23:38

Nope, not me or my mother. Plenty of people around did (we're in a large Australian city, so not nearly as crowded as Britain but busy enough) but we didn't. Are masks still mandatory in places in Britain? They've largely disappeared here except in hospitals.

Crinkle77 · 02/07/2023 23:40

Me and my mum as far as I'm aware. I was testing regularly for work when test kits were free and was always negative. Couple of times had to get a proper covid test and was negative. If I had symptoms I would test over a number of days in case it took a few days to show and always negative. Itmay be that I had covid and was asymptomatic but I live with my 74 mother so you'd think one of us would have had symptoms if one of us was asymptomatic.

Ponderingwindow · 02/07/2023 23:43

We have never had it, but DH is highly vulnerable so we take serious precautions to this day.

Masks thankfully no longer mandatory anywhere in the UK. I haven't even had to wear them for hospital appointments for quite a while now.
