Has anyone else not had covid?

For the whole of the period covid was rampant I wasn't ill once. Just before I had pneumonia, went away with antibiotics. Ds2 tested positive, but wasn't actually ill, the rest of us were all resolutely negative. I find it weird, surely I should have had it by now?

I’ve never tested positive. Might have had it I guess! Was never very strict with testing

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 02/07/2023 21:57

Me. Despite working with the mass vaccination programme and meeting face to face with hundreds of unvaccinated members of the public for a period of almost two years.

Lweji · 02/07/2023 21:58

I have had it, but my partner and DS haven´t. 😒

DH hasn't, although I did last year. But he swears he had it between Xmas and NY 2019, when he was ill with what turned out, a few months later, to be classic Covid symptoms.

Didn't want to.

I sense an agenda

Devastateddaughter · 02/07/2023 22:07

As far as I know I haven't had it, in fact I can't remember the last time I had any cold type symptoms. I have been vaccinated though.

Whatever. I'm not anti vaccine whatsoever, have had many. I didn't want this particular one, if that's OK with you?

I haven't succumbed but it has come at a cost.

Irridescantshimmmer · 02/07/2023 22:18

I never got it either, feeling pretty good about that really. Just had my vaxines and stayed indoors.

tennissquare · 02/07/2023 22:18

I know a family who use to live in Australia and moved to U.K. pre pandemic, the family have had covid several times apart from the ds who when he was much younger in Oz had swine flu with a very high temperature. The family think it must have given him immunity to covid.

Im curious as to the agenda of this thread. Vaccine sceptics are often covid minimisers too.

MindfulBear · 02/07/2023 22:20

Me.... well - I've never had a positive test. Despite my whole family testing positive and me being the one who was sick n tired for weeks!!!!
Very odd.

MargaretThursday · 02/07/2023 22:22

I haven't, even though I was working all through 2020 and 2021. I've been testing regularly and still am because I see people who are vulnerable at work. I might have had at the start of March 2020, but I did do a government antibodies test about 4 months later which came up negative, so I don't know.
Dh hasn't had it, but rarely goes anywhere as his firm flipped to wfh and has stayed that way, and doesn't test unless he's actually ill
Dd1 had it at uni, and dd2 had it at home (but didn't give it to any of us), both in 2022.
Ds has avoided it, even though at one point it ran rampant through his school year, including his friends. You've never seen such a happy group of teens as the remainder of his year when they were finally all sent home.

Ds is vulnerable though, so a good thing he avoided it. We've all had all the jabs, but ds has had more than the rest of us. Good thing he likes injections isn't it?

Lagershandy · 02/07/2023 22:22

Neither I or my DH have had it, and we both worked through the pandemic.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 02/07/2023 22:24

Yes Me!
I think it's one positive of being slightly antisocial by nature!

NowYouSee · 02/07/2023 22:24

Three times people in my house had it and I tested negative daily despite extensive exposure to them. I may have had it before testing was available as had illness just as lockdown started. And/or may have had it very mildly or asymptomatically at some other point and not realised. Clearly my body could fight it off, I concluded, aided and abetted by the vaccines which would perhaps for make up for always catching norovirus when nobody else is the house ever does.

until late last year. When i started feeling ill one day and that evening I suddenly I started felt really dreadful - did a Covid test and the line turned bright purple the moment the liquid got to it. Was in bed for a good few days but never in danger of hospitalisation.

so the moral - just because you haven’t obviously haven’t had it yet doesn’t mean it won’t make you ill at some point.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 02/07/2023 22:25

My daughter and I had it 3 times. Husband didn't catch it.

Mindovermatter247 · 02/07/2023 22:25

i haven’t…. In a house of 8 only 3 of us didn’t get it.
it was funny because DP had it back in oct 2021, no one else got it despite him wandering around the house before he’d tested positive
dbro & his gf got it feb last year, he was all over the house, still no one else got it.
dmum & dsis had it last June and again no one else caught it…
yet dd best friend’s whole house have had it 3 times…
it’s strange how it’s passed on.

sunshineandshowers40 · 02/07/2023 22:26

I haven't. Family of 5 and only one of us has had it.

NowYouSee · 02/07/2023 22:29

And to add, out of all the cases in the house, mine 2.5 years into the pandemic was the illest any of us have been with it.

HOW DO I REPORT A THEAD, PLEASE?

If you swipe left on a post, several options come up- including 'report'.

There is a whole topic around Covid though with various discussions, including previous threads asking this same question . Perhaps you could ask for this thread to be moved under that topic .

BeggyMitchell · 02/07/2023 22:32

I haven't. Neither have my DC, my ex, or anyone in my extended family or friendship circles.

vipersnest1 · 02/07/2023 22:33

I've never had it officially, but believe I had it before it became public.
I was very ill over the Christmas period, with a nasty cough, for around six weeks. Even my DM (the least sympathetic person when it comes to illness - it took her two weeks to believe I was ill when I had glandular fever) told me I shouldn't return to work after the Christmas break.
I've never had anything that could potentially be it since.
