Kyiv post reporting on twitter
The Internet will be disconnected in #Moscow and the Moscow region if necessary and by order of the leadership of the counter-terrorist operation, Russian media reported.

RedToothBrush · 24/06/2023 13:56

Remember Wagner have considerable influence with troll farms ...

katem98 · 24/06/2023 13:59

Thank you @MagicFox

RiseYpres · 24/06/2023 14:01

It feels like endgame for Putin- but I fear for a Russia where Wagner is in control of anything.

RedToothBrush · 24/06/2023 14:01

https://euromaidanpress.com/2023/06/24/wagner-mutiny-was-months-in-the-making-russias-loss-of-nuclear-weapons-possible-gulagu-net/?swcfpc=1
The Russian human rights group Gulagu net states that #Wagner’s armed rebellion was an operation planned since autumn 2022, and that an operation to seize Russian strategic nuclear weapons sites is unfolding.

A reminder here: if Wagner was stockpiling ammunition it was withholding it from its own front line and men

And that Moscow isn't necessarily the only place to head to try and get control.

And that Wagner are seriously nasty.

PMK for a very interesting turn of events.

Do we take bets on possible outcomes?

Same.

Amispringy · 24/06/2023 14:02

I've done nothing all day. Glued to tv and twitter

MissConductUS · 24/06/2023 14:03

Reporting for duty.

borntobequiet · 24/06/2023 14:03

PMK also. Thanks for all the information and analysis.

Khadrov Akhmat forces seen in Rostov

MagicFox · 24/06/2023 14:05

I am also concerned about any Wagner control of Russia

PMK, many thanks to all contributors Brew

Thanks @MagicFox, I’m not sure it feels like an endgame or a crossroad. Rolland on Ukraine the Latest made the point that this is going to end bloodily for either Putin or Prigozhin, there is no way they both get out of this alive.

This.

It feels like the possibility of defeating one dangerous man to replace with another.

What could be the worldwide implications of this?

Amispringy · 24/06/2023 14:02

I've done nothing all day. Glued to tv and twitter

Also glued.

I had the immense privilege to work in Kyiv for 3 years a very long time ago and when the invasion happened I spent the day watching the tv, trying to text friends I was still in contact with and crying my eyes out.

Feels the same a bit today. I feel hopeful that Putin will be toppled but deep fear at what is coming next.

BippityBobbityBoo · 24/06/2023 14:18

This is probably a very stupid question but I’m listening to the radio and they keep saying that this has serious implications for the whole world and particularly the west but they aren’t explaining why! Why?

Igotjelly · 24/06/2023 14:18

Guardian reporting that flight tickets out of Moscow are sold out.

I think Putin is a mad and cornered injured wolf and he has no conscience. He will be scorched earth and he will absolutely employ every single weapon at his disposal in order to 'win'. Winning for him might mean everyone dies. He is truly off his rocker and he does not care about anything.

BippityBobbityBoo · 24/06/2023 14:23

@RiseYpres thank you for the utterly terrifying explanation
