I can't get this out of my head now. I think it's because of the grim deadline tomorrow. At this point I think it'll be a miracle if they are found. It literally would be my worst nightmare to be in a confined space like that for any length of time. The conditions and the panic must be horrific.

I'm totally sickened by the public and media's interest in this story.

Where's the hysteria when a migrant boat disappears at sea?
Why not the huge scramble of rescue crews desperately trying to save 100s of people, including babies and children?

Do only rich, white people matter?
They are under the sea because they chose to go on an extravagant and unnecessary trip.
Asylum seekers don't have such privileges.

Ffs do you have to make this thread about another tragedy. There’s already a separate thread for the Greek tragedy, give it a rest and have some respect.

They do have limited supplies apparently.

They were allowed to take a sandwich and a bottle of water each.
They are discouraged from eating and drinking before and during the dive because of the toilet situation (small).

Some of us have the ability to care about more than one issue at a time. And even have the ability to discuss more than one issue at a time. And to see the travails of humanity wherever it falls.

The wreck is 2500 miles down.

The Nutty Putty Cave incident was worse than this, I think. But at least that bloke's suffering was over quicker.

I’m off to bed feeling very strange and knowing that if, by the time I return from the school run tomorrow, they haven’t been found… then there is no hope :-( And they may never be found. This eerily unfolding tragedy has had me following the news since I heard about it. It’s truly haunting.

as @Snowy2022 mentioned earlier - the French and Brits rescue lots of people from the Chanel everyday. Because asylum seekers do matter.

All people matter. It’s no more relevant that these men chose to go on the sub than it is that asylum seekers choose to go on small boats across the English Channel.

people are rightly concerned about the men in the sub. Your lack of compassion and empathy for others is sickening.
