He may just not know how to deal with things. Nobody knows.

500 people died off the coast of Greece just a few days ago. Desperate people, at least 100 children. No international rescue attempts for them.

We know.

Just reading that the banging noises could be coming from Titanic itself. It goes through spells of making 'lots of noise' apparently. Dependant on currant/deterioration in the hull.

I find that a bit unnerving. The wreck sitting there banging away when folk are trying to look/listen for the sub.

YoSof · 21/06/2023 22:20

Some of the videos on Oceangates Facebook page are mesmerising, I can understand slightly better now why people may have been tempted to take the trip.

Personally no amount of money in the world would make me get in a submersible, and I’d die trying to keep my children out of it too, but I can see the fascination.

Another one going to sleep soon and hoping so much for good news in the morning. There really is no time left.

oakleaffy · 21/06/2023 22:20

The stepson seems really crass looking at that Twitter account
He clearly has no love for his stepdad or concerns for others trapped in that deadly coke can.

tortoishelll · 21/06/2023 22:21

Yesterday, he posted how he's single. He's been attending concerts and oggling half naked women online. He isn't normal, that's for sure. Very strange behaviour. And even more disturbing is the other comments egging him on, and even agreeing / making jokes of the situation. It's very disturbing.

Creepy isn't it

tortoishelll · 21/06/2023 22:23

I, too find it really eery how the titanic apparently goes through spells of making a lot of noise and shifting on the sea bed. It's very creepy.

Indeed, Titan seems it may have been crafted from the same arrogance as the unsinkable Titanic.

There's an interview with the CEO where he claimed Titan was "invulnerable". He'd lay his money on it - or in this case, other people's.

Those on the vessel have my full sympathy, but it shouldn't be so easy for people to be in this situation.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/06/2023 21:15

No.

They do have limited supplies apparently.

BalanceMeHumours · 21/06/2023 22:29

Something that has just occurred to me that I find amazing/confusing.

The wreck is 2500 miles down. The schedule had them arriving there in about 2 hours. That's 1250 mph. Is that right? How is that possible?

It also had them surfacing in a similar timeframe.

Am I just really naive and dense about speeds at sea and underwater?

Bouledeneige · 21/06/2023 22:30

It's 2.4 miles down

@MeinKraft @tortoishelll same.
i Always was very interested in Titanic, I remember when it was discovered in 1985 and always was invested, went to 4 Titanic artefact exhibition around Europe.
I also find it a but creepy and mostly very sad that the wreck makes these sounds itself, but I remember in the movie it made also very sound noises so I can imagine it would be similar, even 111 year later.
What a shame, what a truly majestic ship it was!
