It would seem that way.

so Sad to hear there have been fatalities, and of course sad to hear there are people in hospital.

When will we likely be told if this is being treated as a terrorist incident?

ODFODeary · 13/06/2023 10:01

All three incidents are linked apparently
Dear God...

helpfulperson · 13/06/2023 10:03

Sounds more like a family feud than a terrorist attack to me. Looks like the three events are connected but geographically separate. As a PP said the crime scene is big due to this hence the huge response.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/06/2023 10:04

Apparently the first incident was Ilkeston road. That's at the end of my road. A bit too close to home.

lollipoprainbow · 13/06/2023 10:06

Would a terroirist attack happen at 4am though ? Surely they'd want maximum impact and would pick a busier time.

Panama2 · 13/06/2023 10:07

sky news is saying three people dead and one man arrested

ODFODeary · 13/06/2023 10:07

They think that whoever it was was under surveillance, hence the quick response @Toddlerteaplease
So very rare I would imagine

Toddlerteaplease · 13/06/2023 10:07

I was up for work at 5.45 and heard nothing.

Mummytolittleones92 · 13/06/2023 10:09

This is how gossip and unfounded speculation starts. Nothing about this is pointing to a terrorist incident. There have been many cases over the years where a person has stabbed/shot/attacked people in a linked incident on the same day/night. Google is your friend here. If it is a terrorist incident that will be established in due course, but the time of the attack in particular doesn’t fit with the typical MO. Writing nonsense about Russian terrorists (good God 🙈) is how rumours and hate start.

itwasntmetho · 13/06/2023 10:10

RudsyFarmer · 13/06/2023 09:58

So a suspected terrorist incident then?!! Honest to god are we pretending this stuff is an accident?!

I think deciding it was Russia is the problem.

I think you're right.

ThursdayFreedom · 13/06/2023 10:12

Well a fat lot of good 'being under surveillance' did.

I didn’t decide it was Russia. I said, or at least was thinking, that when you provoke a country though supplying arms you heighten the risk of a terrorist attack. Currently we are very much provoking Russia no?

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 13/06/2023 10:15

We really don't know yet whether this was a terrorist attack or the actions of a vet disturbed individual with mental health problems etc. I'm not sure that the speculation is really helping anyone.

notimagain · 13/06/2023 10:25

I think it's going out on quite a limb to hint at or speculate at Russian involvement but if you must do that then remember Russia has been quite happy for it's agents to carry out terrorist attacks/attacks on individuals on UK soil (e.g Salisbury) over the years, well before the current war in Ukraine...

thedogisstaring · 13/06/2023 10:26

Why speculate? Have we learnt nothing from blind speculation?

It could be any number of things, mental health, family domestic, gang retribution, terrorist or any number of things.

It will take time for the police to piece together. Big cordons needed while they do that. Just stay out of the way and let the specialists do their jobs.

Indeed , but it probably got a quicker response time

Three people have been killed and multiple injured according to the daily Mail

Absolutely. Probably even more reason to not piss them off but my comment was certainly not ‘vile’. It’s just another hyperbolic online comment made by people determined to offended.

I await your scolding by the late comers, who are now with information others did not have.

Now chant after me, "public servants are perfect and can't be criticised, unlike other humans".

Anyone can be useless at their job, make a mistake and be a bad person, unless they work for the state. If ever a cover up comes to light you must be shocked and think it is a one off and will never happen again.

I agree, although people with serious mental health issues (i.e. religious extremism) often don't sleep well due to (legal and illegal) drugs/being very mentally unwell, so terrorist attack can't be ruled out I suppose. I remember 1 man I met as a student nurse, he was praying up to 20 times a day, hardly slept and was mentally in a very bad way.

Personally I'm assuming it's drugs related though.

Naturally people are going to speculate.

What do you think this entails though? Do you think there are people assigned 24/7 to someone? That they can act pre-emptively with no evidence?
