But the "derailers" are not providing evidence Bozo is trustworthy, hardworking, honourable and hasn't lied to the 'commons.

What we know is he stepped down in the face of a Tory majority report into his behaviour, in doing so, he has escaped any official sanction, bit like Police Officers used to do to avoid prosecution for corruption etc.

My view of Bojo has never changed, he is a dishonourable man, no many worthy of the name has so many children with umpteen women, that told me years ago what he is like, its all about him and his needs.

heartsinvisiblefury · 13/06/2023 08:38

@Janiie and as you asked, what rattles me about this man is that he is a lying narcissist and as such is probably only impressive to other lying narcissists.

I'm happy not to be impressed by him.

'Johnson is unique for having damaged, as a predictable consequence of his own actions: the House of Commons, the House of Lords, the office of Prime Minister, the Conservative Party and himself. He's also damaged the UK internally (its politics, economy and society) as well as its external reputation. He's divided UK society into polarised tribes like never before. He's attacked the UK's highest courts and the rule of law.'

Honestly such ott, melodramatic statements. What is it about this successful man that rattles you all so. Damaged the UK reputation my arse. We'll have Sir Korma and Ange doing that in bucketfuls soon enough though.

I take it you haven't seen the articles in the foreign press about Johnson in the last couple of years? Predictably, they find him a total buffoon and unfortunately, particularly with his Brexit shambles, he has dragged the country's reputation down with him.

It must be quite embarrassing being a government front bencher currently. Every time they try to attack the opposition, they know that their record makes them absolute sitting ducks for the riposte. See Cooper's recent exchange with Braverman, for instance.

There are times when I seriously wish MNHQ had a block button. The derailing and the goading defences of Johnson are tiresome

I don't think my posts are irrelevant or goady - and certainly not goady in comparison to other posters on this thread. One such poster here;

Michael Howard today pointing out more lies from Johnson.
Remembering when Michael Howard sacked Johnson for lying about an affair.

Once a liar - always a liar.

Once a liar - always a liar?

Well, that's rather worrying - we know that Keir Starmer told a string of lies regarding his meal in Durham: he lied about how many people were there (he said 'about six' - there were seventeen people including Starmer), he lied when he said his 'hotel wasn't serving food that evening' (the hotel was serving food on the terrace until 9pm), he lied when he said 'all the hotels and restaurants in Durham were shut' (they were open for outside eating in groups of up to six - Starmer ate at an outside restaurant in Hull the evening before, and then posed for publicity photos, socially distanced, wearing a thick coat, in the cold), he lied when he suggested that the curry was impromptu (it was planned in advance)... Not to mention that Labour head office lied when they said Angela Rayner wasn't there.

Starmer - Lawyer, former DPP (never sacked, let alone for lying or had a ridiculous Pepper Pig moment)
Rayner - Working class, self educated, pulled herself up by her own hard work.
Johnson - Failed journalist (according to his former boss) game show host, sacked twice for lying & now left the HoC under a cloud.

Bojo was never suitable to lead the UK but i did enjoy his hosting of HIGNFY, he should have stuck at that.

IClaudine · 13/06/2023 08:50

C'mon janiie and clav, how about answering the questions I have put to you both:

Clav, did Johnson lie to the House, yes or no?

Both: what is it about Johnson that makes you support him so vehemently?

A number of very well-respected writers in a number of heavyweight publications.

But, while I have your attention, do you think you could tell us whether you really believe Johnson has never lied to Parliament, and whether you think his conduct with regard to Pincher was acceptable?

Oh gosh, yes - Angela Rayner was going on about the 'world stage' the other day. Can you imagine Angela Rayner on the 'world stage'?? Don't give up - the polls are edging upwards I think;

Westminster voting intention:
LAB: 42% (-1)
CON: 31% (+2)
LDEM: 12% (-1)

I think it would be only polite for you to answer the question that a number of posters have put to you first, @Clavinova.

Alexandra2001 · 13/06/2023 08:58

@Clavinova Like i said earlier, take your new evidence to Durham Police?

Starmer has been found innocent of any wrong doing and thats the end of the matter under our criminal justice system, your constant pursuing of Starmer sounds a little obsessive.

Unlike Sunak and Johnson, both found guilty of Lockdown breaches and Bojo now guilty of misleading, deliberately, Parliament, yet the toe rag will escape any meaningful sanction.

Whether Starmer was fined or not is irrelevant - he still told a string of lies - for whatever reason.

Nope because Bojo was proven to have lied and acted illegally, your allegations are unproven, its an important point & why we have a justice system and not Kangaroo courts.

My allegations that Starmer lied are not unproven at all - he clearly made false statements, hence the police investigation. Whether he broke the law or not is a moot point.
