But of course it makes a difference to other people's survival. When you catch covid because of ignoring lockdown rules you risk spreading it to all the people you come into contact with, including ambulance and NHS staff, and including the vulnerable relatives of those people.. And when you end up in intensive care because you're PM and they daren't take risks, you're keeping another desperately ill patient out of that intensive care bed.

Bojo never needed ICU, any of us would have been told by 111 to stay at home.

Thats something else i wont forgive him for, my Aunt suffered greatly because she was refused hospital treatment with Covid, paramedics stayed with her for a couple of hours but couldn't admit her.

That fat twat went into hospital for PR purposes.

ginandbearit · 12/06/2023 18:08

To add to Boris's reputation for honesty and probity it looks like he's put his daughter Charlotte Owen to be a life peer at the grand age of 29 after 18 months experience in his office..

Has she actually been made a peer 😨? I’m trying to figure out if he’s managed to make his equally narcissistic and philandering father a peer of if Sinai has managed to close that one down. Anyone?

Sunak not Sinai damn autocorrect!

ginandbearit · 12/06/2023 18:18

He wanted his father to have a knighthood but not sure if that has been dropped.

You do a disservice to the critical care Consultants who would not have gone along with a 'PR' stunt when beds were in such high demand.

TheGander · 12/06/2023 18:22

It’s gone quiet on the Stanley Johnson front, nothing specifically about him in the papers, I hope that means it’s being fought against behind the scene. If he got made a peer it would be an utter travesty.

Rhondaa · 12/06/2023 18:23

'Black humour, i asked my DD about this, she said "for some its the only way of dealing with some pretty terrible outcomes"'

Oh please. Silly dancing clips posted on social media is attention seeking, absolutely inappropriate nonsense. Black humour in the staff room yes. Dancing clips on sm? No.

Whatever your opinion of the dance videos, it wasn't illegal to do so

What's Stanley Johnson done for the United Kingdom to deserve a peerage?

Oh must things be illegal for us to disapprove and comment? Who knew! best ask mnhq to add it to the TGs.

verdantverdure · 12/06/2023 18:33

The police say Boris Johnson broke the law, Boris Johnson paid fines for doing it. Tory MPs got rid of him because of it.

Anyone still going "but dancing nurses though" is a bit detached from reality IMO.

Notonthestairs · 12/06/2023 18:34

TikTok videos are nothing more than a distraction from the Prime Minister lying to the House of Commons and, no doubt, lying to the Privileges Committee.

That is gossip based on the crazy idea that he had a secret love child with his ex wife...

There is enough to criticise him for without making things up.

No. It is context. Work colleagues at work getting fpns from an over enthusiastic Met for eating at work, does not compare to hcps unprofessionally prancing about and filming themselves whilst poor relatives couldn't even visit. One may have got fpns but I certainly know which is far more appalling and utterly tone deaf.

Are you trying to derail the thread? Tic tok nurses have nowt to do with the topic in hand.

Is she his daughter?

I’ve seen comments on who is she - but not daughter mentioned.

Merrymouse · 12/06/2023 19:07

Boris Johnson was forced to resign and later investigated because of his serial dishonesty, not because he received a fixed penalty notice.

@Janiie it would be nice if you would tell us why you don't disapprove of the illegal parties that Johnson attended that apparently had soggy sandwiches from M+S. (Not a fine advert for them surely?).
Why was it ok for the Prime Minister to have a birthday party but not millions of children?

The advantage of the derails is the thread gets longer, stays on the front page of Mumsnet, links Johnson in search algorithms more and more to liar, liar pants on fire and generally keeps people angry at the Tories. Keep up the good work @Janiie
