'Kids managed to survive without parties'

They did.

Shame our government couldn't and needed to be fined for being too dense to understand their own rules they read out daily.

Rhondaa · 11/06/2023 14:33

God, that is just cringeworthy. Whoever sooz is she needs to attend some comedy classes stat. Are we really mocking women's hairdos by wearing wigs? It's all a bit 1970s isn't it. Poor Sooz. It's a 0/10 from me 👎

A first thing I said to DH is that if BJ was Trump he would have stayed & fought tooth & nail. I can't believe this situation has made Trump go up in my estimation. Pah.

DuncinToffee · 11/06/2023 15:18

Trump hasn't stayed, he lost the elction and has been ranting on his truth social ever since. Johnson will do the same via the friendly press.

Merrymouse · 11/06/2023 15:22

I don’t think this is the end

Merrymouse · 11/06/2023 15:25

Sorry - the end of Johnson dramas.

He isn’t going to keep quiet - he needs attention.

The papers will keep reporting his every move because it’s click bait.

He will continue to cause chaos (whether in his professional or personal life) because he can’t operate in any other way.

@Janiie would you say it was more or less cringeworthy than a 56 year old having an illegal birthday party, having banned them for millions of children?

Not as cringeworthy as Nads in real life!

Has @Reic0003 been back on this thread at all????

They were immediately after they said goodbye and again this morning.
Shortly after they left another Boris fan turned up.

'would you say it was more or less cringeworthy than a 56 year old having an illegal birthday party, having banned them for millions of children?'

Not comparable in the slightest. One is a dreadfully unfunny tweet with a woman in a wig, the other didn't happen. HTH.

Also these poor tragic dc could celebrate (well apart from the one whose dm painted balloons and pretended they were friends on another thread, I mean there's a fucked up childhood entirely of the parents making). We managed to sing happy birthday to ours and they got presents! Not traumatised at all. We're a resilient bunch though.

heartsinvisiblefury · 11/06/2023 16:17

What's most cringeworthy is people still defending a proven liar.

PerkingFaintly · 11/06/2023 16:20

Not planning to respond to Grant Shapps' comments, then, Janiie?

Here they are again, to help you.

Well good for you and congratulations on being a resilient lot.

Lots of people adhered to the lockdown rules and suffered for it one way or another. For lots of people, seeing Johnson partying, lying about it and then throwing a hissy fit about being held to account is just unbearable. He is scum and should never have even got within sniffing distance of becoming the worst PM we have ever had.

IClaudine · 11/06/2023 16:32

People defending Johnson, even if it is just to wind people up, are as unsavoury as he is.

@Janiie so you are saying the Met Police, got it wrong. I suggest you share your evidence, that no one else has, with them.

Why did Johnson resign on Friday if he had done nothing wrong? Surely you can't lie about something you haven't done? All he need to do is convince one of the Standards committee, Commons or his constituency all of whom have a Tory majority of his innocence.

I have pleased to hear that your children had all their friends at their parties, lucky them.

pointythings · 11/06/2023 17:00

@BunnyBettChetwynnd those photos clearly show people working. Obviously. I mean, us in the NHS, we were just living it up exactly like that, every single day. Clearly.

(In @Janiie 's world)

pointythings · 11/06/2023 17:02

And obviously the Met police got it wrong, or they're biased against poor Boris, despite Bas Javid being a bigwig in the Met.

And also the Durham police were biased in favour of Keir Starmer.

And no matter what comes out or what anyone says, Boris is as pure as the driven snow.

Dymaxion · 11/06/2023 17:22

Well you can't argue with the dictionary definition of charisma, it can inspire devotion apparently. Never met Boris or Trump, but they don't come across as having compelling attractiveness or charm to me, but each to their own.

In fairness to her, that's not one snap. It's two. We wouldn't want to downplay the evidence now!

And those of us in schools too - apparently HmmConfused

Doesn't seem to dawn on anyone that whilst teaching or practicing medicine you cannot drink. And that whilst teaching a class or doing surgery we don't generally stand there with a picnic WinkGrin

itsgettingweird · 11/06/2023 17:24

Yes biased towards Starmer but obviously not Cummings because he did nothing wrong!
