@Mutabiliss you're bang on, it's very much of a type!!

My thoughts were:

  1. Foglest house ever
  2. AstroTurf WTF
  3. Is that one of those tellies that masquerades as a framed "work of art" in the master bedroom?!
  4. Colour-coded book people are loons
  5. Terrible kitchen, absolutely terrible
  6. Even posh people have Words on Walls...

It’s a funny one- presumably they are letting unfurnished (or at least decluttered) but they’ve made no attempt to make it look like somewhere you could move into. Even those of us who like a bit of clutter want our own clutter, not Ben Fogle’s clutter.

Hells Bells! 26K! For a house where the main rooms are hardly wider than a corridor!
Like the decor though, but the bookcases look a bit “try hard”
And I disapprove of the plastic grass.

Belmondo · 07/06/2023 14:23

Also, I once saw photos of Levison Wood's flat in London (Dulwich, maybe?) up for rent and it was the sort of early-thirties bachelor version of this 🤣 - ye olde model boats, globes, artfully placed navigational instruments etc,

cocksstrideintheevening · 07/06/2023 14:23

Didn't think he'd be kne for AstroTurf.

I quite like it but fuck, the dusting.

MooMooSharoo · 07/06/2023 14:23

I don't dislike the hanging parasols in the kitchen though.

Would look shit in my conservatory though!

cocksstrideintheevening · 07/06/2023 14:24

As an aside my phone just spelt fuck for the first time without trying duck!!!

ThePoshUns · 07/06/2023 14:24

It's so cluttered. Feels claustrophobic. Not my taste at all

cobicat · 07/06/2023 14:24

Where is Ben going?

Museya15 · 07/06/2023 14:24

£26,000pcm😂

BaroldBalonz · 07/06/2023 14:25

Well I like the green tile bathroom floor, not so keen on most of the rest.

Mirabai · 07/06/2023 14:25

Way too much colour and clutter! But nice outlook over Wormwood Scrubs.
It’s not a nice area though, I would not want to live there.

LadyDanburysHat · 07/06/2023 14:25

So much to unpack in that house. The fake grass is awful, I think it may have been done as there is a window to the basement, but slabs would have looked better. The kitchen looks like it would give me splinters every time I touched a cupboard. I also have the rainbow books.

And the mix of ultra modern and then furniture that looks like you dragged it out of your Granddad's shed is just weird.

Or to pack away, depending on your POV

Wexone · 07/06/2023 14:27

Sweet jesus the clutter😳😩 dont get me started on the crooked paintings, way too much stuff for the size of house. And the price ? Wow

Highandlows · 07/06/2023 14:27

Did they moved recently?

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 07/06/2023 14:28

Definitely plastic grass the hypocritical bastard.

But I'd live there, I'd get used to the blue fireplaces but get rid of the shocking kitchen cabinetry.

KirstenBlest · 07/06/2023 14:28

@QueenOfThorns,
I would be very disturbed by someone who arranged their books by colour, although I can’t quite put my finger on why!

Because it's not how we use books. I wouldn't go into bookshop or library thinking 'I fancy getting a book with a duck-egg blue spine and one with an orange one', I'd be thinking something like 'I want to get a book on architecture, the latest Colm Toibin novel and, a veggie cookbook and some gossipy memoirs' or something.

Because this?

A rubber duck

'Ducking hell' to disappear from Apple autocorrect

One of the most common swear words will no longer be automatically changed when typing.

Did they make their own furniture out of pallets during lockdown (like everyone else)?

Thought you'd just had an overly agressive reaction 😂

I've never seen sliding barn doors in a UK home before. I'm only familiar with it as a trend because American interior designers are always ranting about how awful they are.

Well if you're used to travelling the world, you probably would go a bit crazy confined to barracks during lockdown.

Perhaps that's when Ben did the decorating......

Moonandstarz · 07/06/2023 14:31

Find Ben so attractive, my guilty crush ☺️ love his accent & sense of adventure... Marina is very lucky, she seems to have a lovely life in the country from her Instagram but do their kids still commute to London or are they boarders?
