I wondered if it was fake grass, it looks a bit like it, I was surprised at that too.

Was there an article you got this from op? Just curious where they’re off to as it’s for rent.

No article just noticed the very colourful decor on right move then spotted the colour coded books

The decor looks very try-hard, not organically grown collection of stuff, but frantic bulk buying in order to portray a certain image.
That’s why even clutter lovers don’t find it cozy.

How do you know it's his house?! I like it, apart from the artificial grass....

Him/his family have done multiple photoshoots & interviews in it

The children’s bedrooms are lovely

LadyofLansallos · 07/06/2023 14:14

I actually quite like that style!

surely the price is a typo though??

Barnella · 07/06/2023 14:14

Quite like it (apart from the plastic grass) as someone else’s house. Wouldn’t like it for my house.

PickAChew · 07/06/2023 14:14

PieonaBarm · 07/06/2023 14:07

I couldn't be bothered dusting all that stuff. Those upside down umbrellas are just asking to be filled up with dust!

With that much money to spend on rent, you probably have staff for that!

CreepingJenny · 07/06/2023 14:16

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 07/06/2023 13:52

I quite like it too.

Me too, my first thought was there’s a happy house right there !

Bit minimalist for my taste really

🤣

I think it's lovely, I like clutter and having beautiful things on display. It's very 'London media type' style though, I've seen loads of houses of famous people like this over the years.

Really shocked by the fake grass though (which it very obviously is - and I bet it's the pricey kind that people claim looks real) - I would have thought he'd be far too ecologically aware for that.

Also, I really, really do not think that anyone in Ben Fogle's family is doing the dusting. If you live in a house like that you have a cleaner, probably multiple times a week.

FullOfBiscuit · 07/06/2023 14:16

Well I am disappointed in him for having artificial grass 🤬😡🤬

As a rental, how would you keep inventory of damaged or stolen items?
even a single very wealthy person would struggle to not damage anything while being there.
The housekeeping needed to dust all that would be annoying.

Surely they aren't wanting to rent it out with all that clutter in it?

NextTimeItsOver · 07/06/2023 14:17

That's what happens when you go to Homesence without a budget 🫤

BarbaraofSeville · 07/06/2023 14:17

To add, just about all the other ones are of a similar size/style and not full of weird clutter but nicely decorated.

polaritychange · 07/06/2023 14:17

MonumentalLentil · 07/06/2023 14:10

Something makes me think the books are decorative and not for reading...they are so carefully arranged.

It is possible to enjoy the aesthetics of your book collections as much as their individual contents. Books are wonderful decorative objects, they are so much more than mere educational or entertainment items.

I want to reorganise some of mine by colour now, but that’s the only inspiration I’ve drawn from Fogle’s place 😧

I'm more concerned with how their going to patch the walls before the tenants arrive at their £20,000+ a month new home covered in old picture frame spots

is it definitely plastic grass?

MorrisZapp · 07/06/2023 14:18

Literally nobody has a book collection that divides into neat sixths of bright yellow, red, and a shade of blue I've never seen a single book in.

I'm afraid not only is it a psycho arrangement, as a life long book lover/shelf observer, I don't think they are actually books.

Riverlee · 07/06/2023 14:19

I love the house and decor, apart from upside down umbrellas. It has a ‘salty sea Captain’ air about it, definantly someone who travels a lot.

2bazookas · 07/06/2023 14:21

I like it. He's travelled so much of the world I'm not surprised it's so full of stuff.

Polew · 07/06/2023 14:21

MonumentalLentil · 07/06/2023 14:08

Fake grass can burn paws. He should know better.

North Kensington? Didn't that used to be Earls Court? Renamed to make it more expensive maybe.

Think it used to Ladbroke Grove or something

I follow his wife on Instagram, from her photos etc it seems like they live in a big house in the countryside? I’m confused!

TheMurderousGoose · 07/06/2023 14:21

Colour coded bookshelves looked naff when all the decor blogs were doing it in 2012. Still looks naff.

@martha4clark theres a drawing of Inca, his lab. The name is on the picture.

Out of all the things that have bothered me about the house, the fact that the picture is wonky is what has bothered me the most! 😂
