Bizarre to be renting at that price with all the stuff still in it.
I know it says 'ask agent' but that implies it's furnished surely?

Polew · 07/06/2023 14:49

Crazy to think people can expect to make £26K in rent for a house that's in an apparently ropey neighbourhood.

Yh. I honestly don't know anybody who could justify £26,000 a month in rent at all let alone afford it even business to business employee transfers wouldnt cover that much for a small family home so I dont know who the market is for

It’s astroturf, it says so in that news article posted

movein · 07/06/2023 14:50

I love it. It's a bit busy but it's a fabulous house

'North Kensington' -- but just opposite the Scrubs! Ladbroke Grove is still a very, um, uneven area, some bits still very run down.
Why not say Hammersmith?

My knowledge of London is v limited but at an asking price of £26k/month I'd have just assumed the neighbourhood would be wall to wall farmers' markets and £££ boutiques.

Presumably they'll leave it their unless requested otherwise to remove it...

I doubt they'll get away with adding an extra charge onto £26k a month

It’s a hoarders paradise, just dust collectors junk everywhere!

It’s not Hammersmith, which is on the other side of Shepherd’s Bush. I would call it Wormwood Scrubs personally.

MonumentalLentil · 07/06/2023 14:52

Fake books, fake grass, fake Kensington address, is anything genuine?

TheUsualChaos · 07/06/2023 14:52

26k a month!!!

Very much gone for the "I'm an explorer don't you know" look but hasn't quite got it right. There's just too many things going on at once. I like all the jungly big plants though. Would love to have rooms big enough for massive plants indoors. The dining room/kitchen has a quirky restaurant feel to it but I wouldn't want that at home.

I'd like to think the fake grass was done by previous owner as just can't imagine Ben Fogle buying the stuff. If he did then he's a bit of a hypocrite!

Fake grass can burn paws. He should know better.

North Kensington? Didn't that used to be Earls Court? Renamed to make it more expensive maybe.

North Kensington is more like Ladbroke Grove

Books sorted by colour. Just dreadful.

I noticed that, do you have to restrict yourself to only buying books of certain colours irrespective of the subject matter? Strange.

Plus it looks claustrophobically cluttered, I am not someone who thinks places have to be soulless minimalist enclaves but this is too far the other way.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 07/06/2023 14:54

Artificial grass aside, I love it!

That looks like someones HOME. Thats his life, on the walls, on the dressers.

No doubt someone will turn it into another faceless grey monstrosity.

It's nowhere near Hammersmith though

Also, I once saw photos of Levison Wood's flat in London (Dulwich, maybe?) up for rent and it was the sort of early-thirties bachelor version of this 🤣 - ye olde model boats, globes, artfully placed navigational instruments etc,

Off to have a google

I can’t get by the 26 k a month rent, surely that’s a mistake??

Polew · 07/06/2023 14:57

You can always put up a matching 'shits' in the toilet

It's very definitely North Kensington. We live in Notting Hill but I can say there's absolutely nothing wrong with his neighbourhood. I'd say an average-for-the-neighbourhood 4 bed terrace would set you back somewhere between 3-5 million, and one of the big houses over on St Quintin or Cambridge Gardens closer to 10.

Still think their rental price is overly ambitious, though.

horseyhorsey17 · 07/06/2023 14:57

Who pays £26K a month in rent?! It makes no sense at all, if you're that rich it would be cheaper to buy in that neighbourhood, by a long way.

Featherhands · 07/06/2023 14:57

if you don't like this, you wouldn't like princess anne's house either. but to be fair, princess anne couldn't give six shits what any one of us thinks.

sadly it doens't look like ben fogle doesn't care - it looks very, well, over thought about for me.

Those books must have been bought for decoration, you can buy them off Etsy by the foot

People who are doing up their own house or sent over on a limited time contract. I can recall another famous person's house very near to theirs that is rented out that way.

pontipinemum · 07/06/2023 14:59

I'm in shock at the price 26k per month!!
