I loved That's Life! Like Watchdog crossed with Mock the Week. I remember some big expose of some weird chewing tobacco called Skoal Bandits.

You could go & make a cup of coffee while dial up connected & if you wanted to make a phone call you had to unplug the internet because it used the same line.

Did anyone else collect the cards or stickers out of the PG tips tea bags boxes?

Oh yes I’d completely forgotten about them. Little rectangular cards weren’t they with writing on the back?

yes they did have writing on the back. I remember sending off once for a wall chart and booklet to put them all in. I remember they did a set of the PG chimps stickers too. I remember sticking them all over the headboard of my bed!

also the cigarette cards you could collect from embassy cigarettes. many more people smoked back then my mum and her friends would collect the embassy cigarette cards as you could redeem them for items from a little catalogue. I remember my mum getting an new crockery set with the cards she'd collected. she quit smoking 30 years ago now.

I absolutely hated the smell of the butchers shop as a child so I would wait outside. but I always remember seeing tripe in the window and mum would sometimes buy it for my grandparents. you don't see tripe anymore.

I remember the collection figures , I would go especially nuts about the guide dogs for the blind one . It was a golden retriever figure and I would spend ages playing and talking to the dog as if he was mine ( I yearned for a dog for a long time ) I think my parents took full advantage of me playing the 'dog' .

Does anyone remember scraps ,that you used to keep in books . They had angels or other cute pictures on them . We would swap doubles with our friends .

How about Garbage Pail Kids?
We thought we were so edgy with those in the playground but they were just cards of tortured cabbage patch kid characters.

i remember sticking green shield stamps in a book - think it was petrol and we got glasses

We had a collection of petrol station glasses

We had little plastic Smurf models from the petrol station.
I'd forgotten about those.

And my grandmother collected stamps from the Co-Op which you stuck in a book & could then spend - she'd give them to grandchildren & if we filled a book we could have it for sweets.
