What would this chinese takeaway cost where you are and have a guess at what I paid

It's been a while, I haven't had one since new years eve and it's safe to say I am scandalised.....

For reference it was one bag of salt and pepper chicken balls with a bag of chips

One mixed meat satay with fried rice.

A tub of mixed ribs.

One tub of crispy seaweed but it's not seaweed.

We haven't had Chinese takeaway for a couple of months and every time we go it gets more expensive.

I've just looked on the 3 menus we have and it ranges between £20 and £25. Pre covid it would have been about £17.

I also see on the newest menu that chips or boiled rice is 60 p extra when previously it used to be included.

But the OPs order would be plenty of food for 3 to 4 people as the portions are massive and come with free prawn crackers.

Even big eating DP can't usually eat a main and rice or chips unless he's been active and not really eaten all day.

On Tuesdays we can get a sharing box with fried rice, ribs, prawn toast, chips, spring rolls, chicken wings, chicken balls sauces etc. for £12 or two selected mains with one side for £12.

I’ve no idea and I’m. It sure the OP is going to put us out of our curiosity by exposing the scandalous cost of the local takeaway, but I’d guess about £30 or so and it has given me a massive craving for one - haven’t ordered Chinese in ages…! I’d have (not just for me!)

Generally make my own steamed rice. I’d also consider a chicken & sweetcorn soup if the local one didn’t come out a bit too thick for my liking.

God what a boring thread. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't pages and pages of "£30-£35 round our way"

I'm in Scotland and would be £25 from one I usually use. It's def a cheap and cheerful rather than classy establishment right enough.
