When you don't feel like cooking?

I came across the thread about discontinued food from M&S and since I've never tried their ready meals, I'm keen to give them a shot for dinner.

I like their ready done pasta bolognaise bake. It comes in 3 sizes which is single, for 2 and a family size. I serve it with their garlic bread.

I love their gastro fish pie. Also the prawn Bhuna...their Chinese selection is good and we often share a Singapore noodles and battered prawns with chilli sauce along with a couple of sides on a Friday night.

Their fries are really good, so buy anything you can eat with them. Then buy iced spiced buns for pudding.

Percy pigs.

When it’s cold, I like the macaroni cheese and I add lots of black pepper.

The Shanghai beef noodles are nice - but haven’t had that for ages so I don’t know if they still do it!

I agree their fries are great.

Posh dogs, cauliflower popcorn.

thefemaleJoshLyman · 26/05/2023 18:43

Iced and spiced buns. Yum.

pilates · 26/05/2023 18:49

Egg and bacon sandwich. Colin the caterpillar.

Upsizer · 26/05/2023 18:56

All their slow cooked meats - pulled pork, beef etc.

sometimes I heat one up and just use it in a stir fry - it’s delicious. Or just whack it into buns.

Jk987 · 26/05/2023 18:58

Butter chicken mmmm!

Peachlollipop · 26/05/2023 18:59

Actually that reminds me-I had last year a box of tandoori chicken. It came with onions I think. It was expensive, but also delicious.

JeandeServiette · 26/05/2023 19:00

Most of their gluten free stuff is pretty decent.

mrsbyers · 26/05/2023 19:01

Tend not to buy ready meals but we do like their charcuterie , fruit salads , coleslaws and sauces

thenightsky · 26/05/2023 19:03

Another vote for butter chicken.

Floralnomad · 26/05/2023 19:03

Their gf stuff is very good . The curries are also very good for a ready meal . The triple cooked chips , frozen or fresh , are the best oven chips .

shakeitoffsis · 26/05/2023 19:05

Their Chinese banquet is lovely with extra prawn toast

ApolloandDaphne · 26/05/2023 19:09

Fish pie, lasagne and garlic bread, pork wrapped in ham, any salad, stir fry deals, chicken tikka masala I could go on and on. I love Marks food when I cba to cook.

percypig · 26/05/2023 19:14

Truffle crisps, lots of the salads, deli stuff like hummus, bread from the bakery section, frozen sweet potato fries, the pasta in the slightly fancier packaging, fresh pesto, florentines, cereal and granola.

erlangshen · 26/05/2023 19:15

Thai prawn curry, so good, used to be £4.25 comes with 11-14 prawns, I have always said to hubby, even if you order a prawn dish in a restaurant you will usually get 3-5 prawns, it was a really good value. However the price has gone up, number of prawns gone down😓

DelilahBucket · 26/05/2023 19:23

Their pizzas are the best supermarket pizzas, so we often get the meal deal when it comes up.
I had some sriracha prawns yesterday which were delicious.
Not had anything bad from their ranges. For us it's a step up from your average supermarket food, with quality comparable to the most expensive brands, but without the price tag. We get a lot of their standard groceries like fruit, veg, biscuits, bread products (they don't tend to add preservatives like other brands), cheeses, plus the ready made stuff is really superior to anything else.
