When you don't feel like cooking?

I came across the thread about discontinued food from M&S and since I've never tried their ready meals, I'm keen to give them a shot for dinner.

Last one - Their pork saltimbotca is divine

QuintanaRoo · 27/05/2023 18:25

I’m quite partial to a tuna pasta bake!

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 27/05/2023 18:26

Four cheese ravioli too.

They also do a nice healthier option mushroom ravioli dish with a white wine sauce.

I think discontinued but their Tiffin is good.

Charlotte potato salad, mini pork pies, scotch eggs.

Their ready made liver and bacon and shepherds/cottage pie ready meals aren’t bad either when I really can’t be bothered.

They do some crisps which aren’t crisps, can’t think of the name but nice. Their ready salted pop chips and potato hula hoops/sticks are also nice.

@SertralineAndTherapy
After a word with the manager who is my bestie, obvs.

Chicken shawarma-'

YorkieTheRabbit · 27/05/2023 22:23

You lot are a very bad influence 😂
I rarely buy ready meals, but I do like M&S custard choux buns. I’ve now got an order coming on Tuesday, there’s spiced iced buns, posh dogs, beef filled Yorkshire pudding's, all manner of stuff 😋

Stellawella · 27/05/2023 22:31

I went today and stocked up on their 3 for £12 fish for the freezer. Also, their BBQ food is out and we’ve had some today. Lovely.

alienslove · 27/05/2023 22:39

Yumnuts... delicious

Identifyingasadolphin · 27/05/2023 22:46

Sourdough bread with treacle and fruit
Marzipan balls

NothankyouNigel · 27/05/2023 22:52

I recently had their Mexican dine-in meal deal - the fish goujons were the tastiest thing I have had in a very long time. I went in yesterday to stock up the freezer but the whole range had gone! Do they do this? Bring out a one off range for a limited period??

DelilahBucket · 28/05/2023 11:44

We had their Stilton with brunch and it is one of the smoothest, creamiest Stiltons I've ever eaten.

That’s what it’s called here , perfect Saturday movie night food with a bag of their tortilla chips

This looks amazing but Ocado are sold out!

Mirabai · 28/05/2023 22:35

Oh I forgot - profiteroles stack. By far the best profiteroles outside a restaurant.

whatapity · 28/05/2023 22:38

Those Victoria sponge, small buns in a box, from the bakery.

BeatrixKidd · 28/05/2023 22:42

I really like the new strawberry and dragon fruit drink, though I can't not hear Arthur from Cabin Pressure trying to say dragon fruit every time I drink it.

PickAChew · 28/05/2023 23:14

I can confirm that the gluten free range that is also dairy free is delicious. Apart from the coated cod which is absolutely vile. The fish fingers and all the coated chicken are lovely, though.

I shokthere at least weekly as I live a stone's throw fro. A decent sized food Hall and mostly mooch around lamenting that I can't eat much of the stuff that saves me time in the kitchen. DH and DS1 like the pizzas and most of the bread, though some of the rolls are a ridiculous price, now.

I can't eat most of the gastropub but.still.enjoy the paella (the dairy is in the chorizo and I give most of that to DH) . DH likes the chilli pie they recently launched. He also likes the combo mix and tortilla chips. He likes the potato crisps more than I do.

I never saw the point of ready made Spanish tortilla until I made a proper one. Theirs isn't as good as tapas revolution or unearthed but I still eat a lot of it!

I miss the Collection Melton Mowbray pork pies. It's the pork, not the pastry, that is disappointing in the gluten free ones.

Disclaimer I'm a bloody good cook but often can't be arsed.

PickAChew · 28/05/2023 23:21

I'll add, the baked beans go down well.

I love the chicken stock concentrate. Nicer than any cubes out there with a real umami kick.

Their £25 copper pot distilled vodka is really smooth and aromatic. It's not always available

Just cracked open a pot of this stuff. Absolutely delicious. it’s my “home alone and I don’t have to share food”.
Mexican Trifle is such a good description 🤣

78Summer · 28/05/2023 23:35

The slow cooked meats in a box are delicious in a roast.

BodgerLovesMashedPotato · 28/05/2023 23:38

The Plant Kitchen "chicken" kievs and dirty fries 😍
Kids love the filled Yorkshire puddings

bendmeoverbackwards · 28/05/2023 23:44

This is making me hungry!

I’ll add cappuccino chocolate muffins from the bakery, pack of 4. Yum!

WetBandits · 28/05/2023 23:47

Their stuffed vine leaves 🤤 picked some up earlier on my way home from work because I couldn’t be arsed to make lunch!

Papergirl1968 · 28/05/2023 23:47

They seem to have discontinued the chocolate covered popcorn, which was lovely.
The chocolate covered mini rolls in the tubs are nice. I think they're called Extremely Chocolatey and they are!

bellalou1234 · 28/05/2023 23:51

My staple dish is.. kievs, buttery mash and mighty peas..

SleazyLizzard · 28/05/2023 23:53

Another one here who really loves their gluten free food , especially the savoury things like pork pies and sausage rolls. An extra bonus is the high welfare meat they use.
