About 2 days ago I discovered that Skegness isn’t in Scotland 😳 How did I never know this before? Embarrassingly, I’m 38 😂

My sister used to live in a town in Kent. One day she told me she was moving from there to Sheerness. I was like "why all the way up North to Scotland? Isn't that a long way?" I had no idea if was on the isle of Sheppey, which is also in Kent.

when I was a lot younger I used to think County Durham was in the northern part of Ireland.

I never did get GCSE geography, not surprisngly.

Haha so I’m not totally alone in misplacing Skegness!
I do know where County Durham is but there are other places that I know have stumped me 😂

I know Skegness isn't Scotland..but equally couldn't tell you where it is lol...off to Google 🤣

Durham is in North East England, surrounded by North Yorkshire and Northumberland. Nowhere near Ireland as younger self assumed.

I found out something in mumsnet while lurking a few days ago. I knew peppers could have baby peppers, as I have often been cutting open a pepper and there would be a tiny one inside it . But I didn't know how that happened until I saw a thread on here. I had seen bunches of carrots that looked anatomically correct before, but this was the first pepper with a Willy I had ever seen! 😀😀

That mandarins, satusumas and clementimes aren't the same. I went to school with some posh gits who used to use their posh words for normal things and always assumed they were all posh words for orange.

I used to associate Clacton with somewhere 'opp north' rather than Essex
