seems not having shareholders isn't such a bad thing for customers. Fancy that ?

I got the email

Thank you v much Nationwide!

JustHowItIs · 19/05/2023 19:31

I have my mtge with them. Do you think they'd do me a wee favour & put it down to nil owed. I mean it's not actual money!!

DreamItDoIt · 19/05/2023 19:39

Been a customer for over 30 years, didn't get this so presumably I don't qualify. So, no, thus isn't about rewarding customers, they've clearly done their calcs and probably worked out how to get great publicity whilst giving the minimum out.

To be honest out if all the people I bank with their systems are the must antiquated.

purplecheesecat · 19/05/2023 19:40

What are the requirements as a customer to get the £100?

EversoDisorganised · 19/05/2023 19:43

DS and I got it today too. We both have current and savings accounts with them.

Fuckitydoodah · 19/05/2023 19:43

I didn't know about this until I saw the email. Thought it was a scam. A pleasant surprise for a change.

To qualify, you have to have your main account with them, plus another product, like an ISA etc

Are you a customer or a member though? The bonus is to members who have two out of mortgage/savings/current ac with Nationwide.

There's a 4.5% loan available to members too.

Summerscoming23 · 19/05/2023 19:45

Does a credit card count as a product? I have current, savings and a credit card but no email.

Oh and home insurance

Fuckitydoodah · 19/05/2023 19:45

Got that a bit wrong, you have to have a current account plus a savings account or mortgage.

EversoDisorganised · 19/05/2023 19:46

I've had savings accounts with them for years but only switched my current account to them last year, partly because there was a £200 switching bonus and partly because they still have a branch on my High St, unlike most of the banks. So this is a really nice surprise.

Thought it was a scamGrin

OMG I was just idly scrolling and saw this so I checked emails. I have everything with Nationwide and rate them highly. I got the email and timing couldn’t be better. Funds are low and this is very welcome 🤗. Thanks for the alert.

No. Members are people who "invest" (sort of) with Nationwide. The only loan/credit that gives eligibility is a mortgage (for obvious reasons).

evilharpy · 19/05/2023 19:58

I got the email. Nice surprise!

IWasFunBeforeMum · 19/05/2023 20:03

I got it!

curlywurlylover666 · 19/05/2023 20:06

I got it and spent it within 3 minutes on disney on ice tickets!

Crochetpenguin · 19/05/2023 20:13

We have a joint current account and joint mortgage. Really pleased we got £100 each as thought we thought it would be £100 between us.

blanketsforall · 19/05/2023 20:16

My husband has had an email but I haven't and I'm the first named account holder - we also hold another 5-6 accounts with them with quite a bit in them so a bit miffed if I haven't got the payment as well as him...

If you log in to the app you may have a message from them about it, that is where I found out I had it.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 19/05/2023 20:19

DP got it and he has had the odd tenner off shopping recently which was nice too.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/05/2023 20:20

So a savings a/c I've had with them all my life, and a mortgage I paid off last month don't count. Terrific.

We are the same. I've only got an email saying we'll get £100. How do you know you are both getting this payment?

Kangarude · 19/05/2023 20:23

The criteria is a current account and either a savings or mortgage account. You need to have paid in £500 for at least 2 months priorate the end of March 2023.
