seems not having shareholders isn't such a bad thing for customers. Fancy that ?

So you broke it.
VisionsOfSplendour · 20/05/2023 14:30
Yes, have a new PIN but then the card reader would only turn on for a second or two (it may or may not have come into contact with some coffee 😀) so it was easiest just to order a new one
They whole logging on process is so ridiculously clunky that I very rarely use the account, I was only trying to make a payment and ended up going into a branch. I see from the above that I'm not the only one who finds it frustrating
dementedpixie · 20/05/2023 14:21
Do you not just need to order a new pin for your card then?
Æthelred · 19/05/2023 23:31
LOL - probably not if you put it in those terms but I am selling a flat and I am angry enough to refuse to deal with any potential buyer with a Nationwide mortgage!
LittleBearPad · 19/05/2023 23:23
I will go out of my way to avoid Nationwide and its members in future.
Its members? Will you be checking friends banking arrangements?
LittleBearPad · 20/05/2023 18:08
Not really - they didn’t make the redundancies because they couldn’t afford the people.
Bank branches are closing because they aren’t used much, not because banks can’t afford to keep a large high street footprint.
Towelie · 20/05/2023 16:18
Bit weird when they've just made mass redundancies, I'm sure it'll make them look better despite the horrible way they've treated their staff though.
Æthelred · 13/06/2023 14:12
I missed out by the narrowest of margins but I was able to get £175 switching to First Direct and I will also cost Nationwide a few hundred pounds by escalating my complaint to the FCA. I'm now an ex-member of the society and I will boycott it in future - to the extent of even refusing to sell my flat to someone with an offer of a Nationwide mortgage.
Dreamstate · 13/06/2023 16:11
And I think that is a fair way to reward members
Ginmonkeyagain · 13/06/2023 13:58
Bascially it is for people who are long term, active customers who use their accounts regularly.
User14528564 · 13/06/2023 14:35
Probably not. I have a current account and didn’t as I use it mainly to move money around savings and withdraw from savings. You had to have 2 deposits of £500 or over into current account for 2 months, January to March from outside Nationwide. My savings qualified but not my current account.
Stepbystep100 · 13/06/2023 12:38
Which is the £100 balance account?
My Dad inherited Mum's NW accounts last year and moved most into a savings account bond but only left £7 in the current account.
Will he qualify?
