seems not having shareholders isn't such a bad thing for customers. Fancy that ?

I am a shareholder in a couple of companies but not banks, nought wrong with being a shareholder.

50k isn't a small saver because you don't get protection beyond, ia it 75/85k, so that's the most people are likely to save.

My Dad has 60k.

Ans this IS where they make their monet. From borrowing at a lower % than they lend on mortgages.

Whilst I agree they could have limited it to savers only with reasonable savings or even a history of reasonable savings.

The hurdles kicked out too many with good histories with NW.
