TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 06/05/2023 14:12

Just flown over

(I’m in Norfolk)

LatteOneShotplease · 06/05/2023 14:13

Did anyone else see him take a little sigh and seem to smile and relax a bit when the three cheers ended out in the grounds 🤗

I think Harry would suddenly be ok with being royal 😂

Omg can you imagine? Harry and Meg being crowned? Elton directing the choir and the USA flag being flown over Buckingham Palace 😆

He’s a re-writer of history, rather than a writer.

History is constantly re-written as we find new evidence or re-evaluate previously known evidence in the light of new ideas and understanding.

And that does sometimes challenge the 'cosy' perspective that has been promoted on various issues. But that is because the 'cosy' perspective has been built on a limited selection of sources. The past is not so simple, and the way we understand it not so simple.

Wow, look at the crowds, even in the rain!

Or she used the name that English speakers, who can’t speak Welsh use

Yes, just like all English people have to say Elysian Fields instead of Champs Élysées, it's just impossible isn't it to use the native language.

It's a ridiculous thing to get annoyed about. I'm Welsh (I live in England now), I speak a small amount of Welsh, and if I were to ever need to refer to it, I'd say bannau brycheiniog but really, English speakers using the English name is fine, isn't it. Especially when, let's be honest, the pronunciation of Welsh isn't the easiest for English speakers. And the national park website still says breconbeacons.org.

honeybeetheoneandonly · 06/05/2023 14:14

I cannot see Harry and Meghan wanting to be King Henry and Queen Meghan. Besides, that wouldn't go down with the rest of the royal family or the public but Andrew would definitely not be accepted as our King. Could you imagine?

PermanentTemporary · 06/05/2023 14:14

Think Kirsty Young should have her colours done, I don't think that green does her any favours though I like the dress.

Im reading Black and British at the moment, v interesting.

It does look like a great turnout!

I've been vaguely wondering if the swollen hands might mean heart or kidney issues.

He has a condition called dactylitis.

MustardGreenAndPlum · 06/05/2023 14:15

Well, this escalated. Still bloody love him though.

mixedrecycling · 06/05/2023 14:16

Are they doing the fly past? There was speculation earlier about it being a washout. But it must have taken off by now?

See posts above re the Eiffel Tower vs Le Tour Eiffel, España vs Spain etc ad infinitum. I’m not sure why the Welsh would care what non Welsh speakers call Welsh locations when they are speaking their own language in their own country. It’s a pretty common thing to do across the world, do you police other countries too? Sorry it makes you so mad, sounds exhausting.

mixedrecycling · 06/05/2023 14:16

Oh, they've just said, a shortened fly past due to low cloud!

toomuchlaundry · 06/05/2023 14:16

They’ve just said they are but shorter fly past

LIZS · 06/05/2023 14:16

Red Arrows and helicopters only

Yes, the discomfort!

I mean, a night's camping in good weather in a nice rural spot is just about manageable, but on a pavement in the rain - no!

On one of these threads someone said she was allergic to horse hair, so it's probably not a great day for her allergy wise!!!
