I thought the King looked a bit faint earlier on

He did look quite pale I thought.

Camilla looked terrified!

Katrinawaves · 06/05/2023 14:06

I wonder if Harry has gone back to the palace for lunch with the family!

You can't just skip people in line for the throne. That's literally the opposite of what a monarchy is.

Yup, no Phil and Holly shenanigans in the RF

Exactly. That's why it caused such a huge fuss when Edward VIII abdicated. We dodged a bullet there, of course, given what we know now about his Nazi sympathies.

Riverlee · 06/05/2023 14:06

Have to say, we do do pomp and ceremony well.

MrsFinkelstein · 06/05/2023 14:06

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 13:57

PS - no Prince Harry? Nope. Apparently he didn't make it.

He was there in the Abbey. Sat behind Anne's big hat.

What are you on about now? He's a wonderful commentator. His house in time series is a delight.

He’s staunchly anti-British, so a curious choice for a Coronation commentator.

Our household went off on a tangent on security but now we are having a discussion on what would happen if the carriage with William, Kate and the kids was blown up. I'm guessing Harry and Meghan wouldn't want to take that job neither would the public. Where would the crown go next? Ann and her oldest child? End of the monarchy? I'm enjoying watching it but it feels nuts to do all of this for one person.

I think Harry would suddenly be ok with being royal 😂

Sugarfree23 · 06/05/2023 14:07

Re comments about Harry's kids. Harry walked away from life as a working Royal.

He didn't want his kids been put on parade, wanted the quiet life.

They were probably also very young to consider it. Only Wills kids were there even at that Lewis had a break during the service.

MustardGreenAndPlum · 06/05/2023 14:07

Oh fckkk it’s Anton. Time to turn over to Sky for Dame Kelly Holmes.

He's not anti-British, what a ridiculous comment. He does show a different side of British history than the comfortable national myths.

Camilla must be nicorette patched up to fk

She gave up smoking years ago.

diddl · 06/05/2023 14:08

Harry walked away from life as a working Royal.

He & his children are still in the line of succession though.

You said earlier 'dishonest and incompetent' with no attempt to substantiate these very serious allegations. As you also objected to the Gospel choir's performance I'm getting an uneasy feeling about your motives.

BlueThursday · 06/05/2023 14:09

MrsFinkelstein · 06/05/2023 14:07

She gave up smoking years ago.

Ah did she? Fair play to her.

having said that even as a non-smoker myself I think I’d be tempted after all that!

Absolute bollocks.

Justneedsomesleepnow · 06/05/2023 14:09

On sky news, the Royal correspondent commented how emotional King Charles looked when William pledged his allegiance to him. She described him as 'his only son there'. Oops!

HamptonCaught · 06/05/2023 14:09

mixedrecycling · 06/05/2023 14:07

He’s a re-writer of history, rather than a writer.

MushMonster · 06/05/2023 14:09

What an spectacle! As they say.
Going to do something else now till they get back to the balcony 😊

SoTedious · 06/05/2023 14:09

Or she used the name that English speakers, who can’t speak Welsh use

Yes, just like all English people have to say Elysian Fields instead of Champs Élysées, it's just impossible isn't it to use the native language.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/05/2023 14:03

What are you on about now? He's a wonderful commentator. His house in time series is a delight.

Yes the House in Time was brilliant but then he started to have an opinion on everything and became really annoying. Given his criticism of colonial Britain I'm surprised he wants to be involved in this.

LadyKenya · 06/05/2023 14:10

HamptonCaught · 06/05/2023 14:06

He’s staunchly anti-British, so a curious choice for a Coronation commentator.

No he is not, but he will not shy away from certain facts that do not sit comfortably with parts of British history. The parts that they will not be so quick to teach in schools. He is not making things up as he goes along. Hardly anti-British because he is speaking real facts.

DappledThings · 06/05/2023 14:11

HamptonCaught · 06/05/2023 14:09

He’s a re-writer of history, rather than a writer.

All historians revisit history. That is the job of a historian. You're really talking a lot of biased shite now.

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 14:11

I don't think it's a bad thing to have commentators who are not royalist.
