Charles looked a bit wistful at the flypast. The Queen and Philip always looked like they loved that bit so perhaps he was thinking of their passing. He's also effectively lost a son as well. Or he might just be a bit peckish

Thats a bit harsh. When you have a massive falling out with your child it does feel like you've lost a child. Its bloody awful.

My DD has just said Camilla has a cigarette and a vodka waiting for her when she goes inside! I wouldn't blame her.

It's not offensive to say he's lost a son ffs! He's not on the balcony supporting him, being part of the family, the rituals etc. You know exactly what I mean

Yes, thanks everyone for such an entertaining and (on the whole) good natured thread! I'm sure everyone has varied ideas about the monarchy, the CofE etc etc but nice to get together and appreciate the bits we've enjoyed and tolerated the bits that don't appeal to us!
