If you like musicals obviously!
I love Hamilton, followed by les mis and wicked. Also going to see jamie this year.
Hamilton with the original cast on Disney is just incredible.

Six is great - loved it when I saw it and would absolutely see it again!

It's not a musical, though there is singing in it, but Pride & Prejudice Sort Of is incredible- everyone should see it honestly, buy tickets now!

Prude and Prejudice … Sort Of is great - so cleverly done. That cast works hard.

I love Clockwork - it’s such an underrated show and it’s so beautiful. Also love Hadestown and Les Mis, those would be my top three then Come From Away and Heathers. I’ve been lucky to see a lot of theatre and the only thing I’ve not liked really are jukebox musicals like & Juliet and Moulin Rouge. If I had to narrow it down though these are my favourites….plus Jesus Christ Superstar and Phantom for an ALW category. Not Bad Cinderella though, that’s dreadful!

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 01/05/2023 00:49

Les Mis - always my No 1!
Six - so clever and adore the all-female element
Bat Out Of Hell - just love it!! (I'd say you do have to be a Meat Loaf fan though, otherwise I'd imagine it could be fairly unbearable)

The writers of six have another musical based on the incredible women who changed the world book. I took my DD when she was 11 I think and she said it was the best show she has ever seen.

I saw Fiddler on the roof about 4 years ago and really enjoyed it. Also really like Mary Poppins, Matilda, Mumma Mia and Jersey Boys.

Thinking about trying to get tickets for Hamilton when it tours. Really want to see Phantom, Evita and Joseph as well. DD wants to see Wicked and I might take them to Frozen but I'm not sure if they are a bit old, plus DD(14) hates the film!

I love so many, but I've seen The Book of Mormon three times and I loved it more every time

Siawouldwannabeya · 01/05/2023 01:46

Sister Act

Madcatwoman68 · 01/05/2023 02:23

Les miserables and Phantom are my favourites that I have seen more than once.

I just love the music and the set.For me,that puts them in a different league to the others.

Enjoyed Come from away, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar and most of Book of Mormon which is definitely not to everyone's taste.

On The Town, Singin' in the Rain, Wizard of Oz, Les Mis, Six.
Actually, it's hard to think of one I don't like.

Iwantacampervan · 01/05/2023 08:06

My two favourites which I could see many times are Les Mis and Six.
I've tickets for The Sound of Music (at Chichester this summer) and JCSS (Southampton 2024). Tempted with Hamilton but it's in Southampton in 2025 & I can't plan that far ahead.

WillowtreeHouse · 01/05/2023 08:33

I want to see Come From Away but my friend hated it and now I don't know whether to book tickets or not!

WillowtreeHouse · 01/05/2023 08:34

However, I was underwhelmed by Six (please don't hate me).

Morewineplease10 · 01/05/2023 08:42

Six. Brilliant!

Morewineplease10 · 01/05/2023 08:43

Some one should do a mumsnet musical.
Songs based on AIBU etc!

PinkPansy · 01/05/2023 08:50

I love (most) musicals, but Come From Away has got to be one of my favourites! Also love Hamilton, Waitress, Matilda and Six.

Brendabigbaps · 01/05/2023 08:57

Starlight Express although that creeps back to being a lot younger. Hamilton is a very very close second though.

It was very … short. I did like the Ann of Cleves German techno take though.

CallieQ · 01/05/2023 11:52

Les Mis every time

Omg this is an incredible idea. I'm a musician, happy to help with score, shite with lyrics though. Who will be my Tim rice?

Comefromaway · 01/05/2023 18:56

Ds is currently orchestrating a student written musical that has just had its first R & D showing. He can be orchestrator/MD. Can Dd be a dancer?

Arginalia · 01/05/2023 19:01

Toss up between Billy Elliot and Cats.

jay55 · 01/05/2023 19:14

Hairspray.

I'm beyond excited for Next to Normal finally being here this summer.
