If you like musicals obviously!
I love Hamilton, followed by les mis and wicked. Also going to see jamie this year.
Hamilton with the original cast on Disney is just incredible.

Sound of Music. Still my favourite musical and my DD's have all grown up listening to it. We saw it in the West End when Connie Fisher won the ALW competition on BBC1, it was brilliant.

Hamilton. There's no beating it in my opinion.

Can I cheat and do films ? If so, it’s Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Love it.

Les Mis
Blood Brothers

I really enjoyed Frozen as well when I took mt daughter for her birthday. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much

SockQueen · 30/04/2023 18:28

Les Mis every time.

Haven't seen Hamilton on stage but love the filmed version on Disney+. Not one I can sing along to though!

Also love West Side Story and Evita.

Distinctly underwhelmed by Wicked.

Icedlatteplease · 30/04/2023 18:33

Caberet. Done well beautiful challenging and thought provoking. Not a huge fan of the latest incarnation, but it's passable

With honorably mentions to sunset boulevard, cats, starlight, woman in white, Hamilton, Aspects of Love, guys and dolls and Moana (I can count moana as a musical right?)

Icedlatteplease · 30/04/2023 18:34

And Martin Guerre!!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!

IJustHadToLookHavingReadTheBook · 30/04/2023 18:38

Hamilton and Evita. Seen Hamilton twice and booked for a third time this year. Seen Evita four times over the years, fell in love with it after the Madonna movie when I was 11.

Dontcallmescarface · 30/04/2023 18:41

Fiddler On The Roof.

WarningToTheCurious · 30/04/2023 18:48

They’re making Wicked into a movie - well 2 movies.

cheeseisthebest · 30/04/2023 18:51

Why 2?

So difficult! Hamilton and Come From Away or obviously fab. I loved Six though I didn’t think it would be my thing. I also love some more niche choices like Parade, Dogfight and Bonnie and Clyde.

cardibach · 30/04/2023 18:52

cheeseisthebest · 30/04/2023 18:51

Why 2?

To make money. I won’t be watching either one.

DemonicCaveMaggot · 30/04/2023 18:53

Les Miserables, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast (there are extra songs in the musical version), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Oklahoma.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 30/04/2023 18:55

So hard to choose one but Wicked & The Sound of Music are way up there!

My DD and I know practically every word of Hamilton and always sing along. It's amazing how many words you can rap without taking a breath.

Retrievemysanity · 30/04/2023 18:56

Literally just got back from Into the Woods-forgotten how good it is! I really like Chicago and Billy Elliot. Not seen Hamilton but it’s coming near me soon so I take it I should go?!

Herecomesthemoon · 30/04/2023 18:58

The King and I. I always liked the film and saw it live recently.

Thunderpunt · 30/04/2023 18:59

Jersey Boys

Allegedly it would either be too long as a single movie and would need cuts, or they can expand the story more to better reflect the novel.

But, yeah, 2 releases should mean more box office takings.

cheeseisthebest · 30/04/2023 19:00

Yes you must but watch it on Disney first if you can. Its long, complicated and some of the songs are growers. It's much more enjoyable if youre familisr with it.
